He first appeared in chapter 10 with Schneizel, who is heading to Area 11, and later meets Suzaku, who can tell that he's not Lelouch.

SO...while Lelouch was running away...a piece of a building falls on him. but you dont get to see it. it switches to Nunnally at Ashford, and hears something, so she goes searching for Lelouch.
