there are no preservatives in jungle, so therefor once you mix it with water, the expiration date increases rapidly. Mixing it one use at a time is best. After a while of storing it, it will rot and mold will create inside the product...
@summerlovesmakeup10 Nope. It will stay liquid.. you shouldnt keep it for more then a week or so because now that there is water in it will go bad quicker.
I used to useJungle this way, but have switched to American Cream. It just works better for me.
I have another idea you might want to try. though. Mix the Jungle just as you did here except use less water, creating more of a paste. It is wonderful on rough, dry areas like elbows. People are amazed at how soft my elbows are! LOL
I was thinking of adding some of the snake oil scalp bar to this, I know the smell may change a bit, but do you think there would be any other differences?
@Chrazycat Hmm.. my only concern with that is because Snake Oil is pretty greasy, it would leave a residue on your hair. I say make a very small batch and give it a go. However, if your wanting to try this because you have dandruff, itchy scalp, dry scalp, etc., Id suggest (should the Snake Oil not work out) adding a little bit of Tea Tree Oil to the Jungle mixture as it is an anti fungal and will help.
So, should you experament with the Snake Oil and Jungle, let me know how it goes! :)
Everytime I go to lush and see the jungle bar I want one. It smells amazing! But I've heard people have trouble with solid conditioners so I never bought one. Now I definitly will! Thank you so much! This makes so much sense! =D
Thanks!! I did this (so I could take it swimming) but used cold water, it took AGES to combine and it's still not great! Hot water makes sooo much more sense (duh!) :D I suggest adding more water to it after a couple weeks, as it gets thicker with time! Great tutorial, thanks! X x x
@MsParanoia1 Hmm... I honestly think that would not work too well... perhaps try cutting off a small section of a shampoo bar and try? If you do, let me know! :)
@XxAysha16xX Yep yep! Exactly the same :) Sometimes I make a liquid and use at as a deep conditioner by leaving it on for an hour or so... Makes my hair feel and smell AMAZING.
Not very long. There are no preservatives and adding the water will make it easier for bacteria to grow. I uaually make it in a 3.3oz bottle and that lasts me 1-2 washes (I have LONG hair.) So Id suggest making it in small batches and use up within a week. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for sharing this video on how to make the Lush Jungle liquid conditioner. I normally use it in the solid form but this will definitely make a difference.

you should not put hot water into the bottle because the hot water will melt the plastic and release chemical which may cause cancer

Eh, sometimes if my water-to-conditioner ratio is off it wont have or leave as much scent. Other then that, no. It works just as good :)
