  • I'm very sorry to say this but when it was the shaking part it was like porn.

  • it's funny that I'm watching this and I'm 13 trying to make ice cream in winter!! lol

  • cool trick

  • thank you, so much i love icecream and by the way you would be a good school teacher

  • How long do you have to shake it??

  • @luv2luvl about 5 min. or until you can see that its statrting to form like ice cream and not all watery like it was before you started the shaking

  • @Bubbly0311 ok thankss

  • This sounds like a lot of fun, informative tips and advice, too. Thanks Cullen!

  • when you said "vanilla", can you use vanilla extract or idk how to spell it ..

  • y do you need rock salt?

  • @perry244 You don't. You can use table salt because it works at lowering the temperature just the same. It's just that rock salt is cheaper.

  • @perry244 the reaction makes it colder just like it melts snow

  • enough with the math/science lesson talk for the stupid kids. Stop saying the word "child" and make the dumb ice cream.

  • @bronc30td Why'd you click on a "Children or Kid Activity" video?

  • Can I just freeze it?

  • @Ninagina15 Half and Half

  • lol we did this in Ag-tech!!! (agriculture technology) And we made butter to :D

  • Just give me the ice cream and we won't have any problems.

  • tastes like bluebells ice cream

  • Awesome! love this, def. making this one!

  • I want ice cream...

  • thanks! i luv the recipe! but what if you wanted o make chocolate ice ream or vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips. would u just add them in with the mix? or is there a different way?

  • @cloverofficialleader You can just add in chocalate syrup into the mix in the place of the vanilla

  • add strawberry jam, cookie dough, or cocoa powder ;) marshmallows and nuts + cocoa powder = rocky road!

  • can i use other tastes than vanilla

  • @jimalexberger if u put nesquik cocoa powder in it u get chocolate ice cream so yes i think

  • is it vanilla extract?

  • jjj

  • i am in grade 7 and My class and I did this.... super fun to do it. My younger sister and i also did it by doubleing the amount of ingredients in the small bag and also adding chocolat cake icing for a chocolat flavour. but at the end there was a big clump of frozen icing. after taking that out (easy to do) it was a great snack for the wonderful heat we get in vancouver right now. lol

  • do you have to use rock salt or can it just be normal salt?

  • is rock salt just regular salt

  • @titans1best pretty much.

  • @titans1best Kind of. I made it with regular salt and no difference. :)

  • @titans1best Rock Salt, is bigger grains of salt.

  • 'Procedure' is also something a child would learn from this!

  • Added this to my playlist, I think some teachers will love this. :)

  • Nice! Im planning to make this but turn it into mango ice cream for the project im working on! hope it turns out!

  • You can snip a hole at the corner of the bag and squeeze itout instead or scooping it out it will be much easier and cleaner.

  • its REALY good.but the thing is wgen i took out the bag inside there was salt on it.then when i poured it out in my bowl the salt came off and went in.lol.im gonna try again.but anways its realy good

  • me and my friend are about to try this and i really hope it works. were gunna add chocolate sauce tho

  • i just made mine & it was the best :)

I didnt use that much ice cubes, but it came out fine :)

  • i used to think that making ice cream was really time consuming and you had to have those stupid ice cream makers but i can do this everyday without making a mess in the kitchen or anything it is just soo easy..i love it <3

  • ty =D

  • do u really need rock salt or can i use regular salt???

  • I love it!!!but can I do it with chocolate powder cause we don't have vanilla extract...pls...reply

  • @joieverlovesanime

you can do it with pretty much any type of flavoring

  • this stuff is good with bananas :)

  • Hey Cullen, could u use regular salt or would there have to be a diffrent mesurment

  • AWSOME!!!! i did wat you said but i used kosher salt instead! but thank you so much! last year i got a ice cream maker but thiws stuff is better! thank you!!

  • AWSOME!!! i did all the steps but i put regular salt instead! thanks

  • Where can i find rock salt

  • It realy did work I tried it first I didn't believed her but she was right

  • Yours was borinq...Bhut i enjoyed it becuz it was more understandable.

  • great idea! gonna ask my mom to make it :)

  • awsome

  • thank you so much it is soooooooo good yummy yummy♥

    awesome :DD

  • I made this but in a blender.

  • ive done it but its still liquid but my question is how to make it ice cream ???????????????

  • we did it but its still liquid can u give me some steps how it will be solid or to be ice cream plssssssssssssssssssssssss comment back thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now we are on "Easter" vacations here in mexico, this was a GREEEEAT!!! activityto do with my 4 years old son, he enjoy to measure and mix the ingredients, but I did the hard work, shake everything to make the ice cream. I recomend to use winter gloves, with them is more easy shake the bag :D

  • Um Hi do you need to any salt to the actual icecream? :)

  • haha i did this friday at skool in sience class it was hella fun we put oreos and sprinkles haha it tasted hella good :P

  • haha seems fun ill try it

  • Elementary stuff (measuring) and high school stuff (reaction between ice and rock salt), does that work in teaching kids?

  • do you have to shake the bag cant you just put it in the freezer

  • @DGARLAND4444 i was wondering the same did you try it?

  • my teacher did it before

  • i did it 3 times and it wont work!!

  • :O i'm putting food coloring in and making it blue! :D

  • This is a great idea for the kids.

But, just a question...what's the point of the rock salt? The rock salt is just going to make the ice melt because it lowers the freezing point. Can we just do it with just ice only?

  • @QueenLeilani Probably not the reaction that the salt and ice have together makes the process of making the ice cream go by so quick. The salt makes the ice REALLY cold, so if you didn't have the salt, it would definitely take longer than 5 minutes. But maybe you could try, and see.

  • Oooooh!!! Nice! I will have to try that then. =) Thanks for the info.

  • its so wonderful and easy

  • Can you use powder milk?

  • can we just put it in the frige???

  • i doubt it. because the salt makes the ice even colder (in science we did this experiment on ice and snow) so i think you would have to like do the freezer if u want to re-freeze it because it melts quickly

  • well it won't be creamy it will be frozen like ice and you'll have to lick it like a popcicle

  • hi me and my friend literally just finished eating the ice cream we made we put little pieces of strawberry YUMMY!

  • me and my bro just made this.......... we graduated fro highschool lol

  • same here.. well my bro is still a junior. does that count for anything? lol

  • just so everybody knows you can use any type of chemical salt it doesn't have to be rock salt which isn't real its just table salt off of rocks ok so any salt will do because when a salt is mixed with water and stirred it causes an endothermic reaction and it cools its surroundings and absorbes heat causing things to cool creating the quick freeze so whether you you NaCl (table salt) or chalcanthite (copper (II) sulfate) it will work because it has to do with the chemical formula of a salt

  • rock salt is a courser version on table salt. And regular table salt works the best. And its a endothermic reaction? I thought that it lowered the freezing point because it got between the water molocules making it harder for them to go into the ice structure. Nothing new is being formed. Not a reaction

  • awesome!

  • this is amazing!!!

  • that is an awesome way to make ice cream, but where is the science?

  • You Look So Nice :)

  • wow!

    its easier than buying!

    thnx

  • i dont have rock saly is that so important you have to use it?

  • u can use regular iodized salt or just salt

  • is there any flavor that you can substitute to vanilla?

  • condensed milk. i used that and it workss

  • There's a girl in deviantart that did the exact same thing! :D

Except, she made sea salt ice cream. :D

I'm 14 and I'm going to make rock salt and sea salt ice cream with my friends! ;D

  • r u transfering the extract or you have to put it in ther?

  • Hey thank you so much! i remember in my third grade clas we did that and it was a blast! and it was delicious and i was trying to remember how to do it. Thank you so much, count on me subscribing, :)

  • Hey thanks Cullen! I just made it in the kitchen, but when i put it in the fridge it became icy and not so nice to eat. :( Thanks anyway!

  • omg loll this is sooo cool?!?!?

lol this girl has a huge mouth lol

  • ummm do you need rock salt? and if you dont have vanilla can you use chocolate syrup?

  • omg she seems so nicee and reminds me of my kindergarden teacher and i am so goin to the kitchen after this

  • I did this and it was deeeeelicious!!!!!

Thnx! now i can make my own ice cream whenever i like.

    ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Great! So glad you liked it and now can make it whenever you'd like.

    Cullen :)

  • Do u have to use Sea Salt

  • no just regular salt too

  • @Cullensabcs

    can i use normal salt?

  • @XxHere2eatyouxX read CLOUDSSTRIFEROX68's comment that will tell u

  • @Cullensabcs hey dose it have to be rock salt

  • @gameroom25 no i did it in regular salt

  • That's so cool!

  • Thanks!

    Cullen :)

  • you dont need to use a big bag i did this when i was younger and we used a smaller bag.

  • I am sure any size bag will work just fine just as long as one can fit inside the other.

    Cullen

  • you can even do it w/ fruit juice to make a fruit slush! [: i just tried it and it works!

  • What does the rock salt do to it?

  • it makes the ingredeients freeze faster. some type of wierd chemical reaction

  • Yam ice cream in 5min :D

  • why do u have to put rock salt. why cant u just put regular salt

  • You know, I have only done it with rock salt. You could try it and see how it goes...good science experiment.

    Cullen :)

  • did you put the regular salt if you did tell me if it worked?

  • It was VERY good! and it didnt take that long to make!!

  • It IS delicious isn't it? I love it too!

    Cullen :)

  • will this work if i put chocolate syrup instead of vanilla? and if u can, plz Mail me the answer bcuz i dont check back from my comments... often..

  • can u make it in soy milk will it come out the same

  • i don't know, give it a try and let me know how it works.

    :)

  • to make the ice cream have bigger amount you just need to double the ingredients right.

  • Right :).

  • i just did this!!

  • Good one hugh?

  • That is great to hear! Thanks for getting back to me and let me know you liked it. Great idea to use peppermint and other things. Tell your child I said hi. Cullen :)
