I had a 1996 Corsica with the 2.2L. I sold it about two weeks ago and I already miss it. Mainly cause I want either a early 90's Cavaler Z24 with the 3.1L 5 speed OR a Corsica with the 3.1L "3100SFI" motor. The 2.2L is a great motor. Slow yes. But those things along with the 2nd generation 3.1 motors in the early 90's before the 3100 SFI, they are bulletproof engines. I loved my 96 Corsica with the 2.2. Only thing I wish it had was a 4 speed tranny instead of the 3 speed.
I had the 2.2 (unbreakable) in my 1995 Corsica (before I traded it in) and it was good for a 11-second 0-60. Max speed 112mph @ 5,300rpm in top gear (governed). I miss the power steering pump whine on mine.
@geforcefly1982 Yeah I agree these engines are very dependable, must be to to it's simplicity (all iron, push rod engine) and the laziness of the engine. The engine could use a good tune up; then it will do 0-60 in 11 secs again in no time!
@geforcefly1982 I have to agree with you I have a 1989 2.0 Corsica and she is very dependable, not good at pickup but a very sound and well built motor. Taking a 5 hour trip to see my girlfriend, she'll make it.
My old 95 had the 2.2 (unbreakable) and it hit 0-60 in 11 seconds, max speed 112mph @ 5,300rpm (governed). Rebuilt transmission shifted at 5,400 rpm max.
@ESESW1FTY323 Damn, your car is awesome. I saw a bunch of videos. You beat the Mustang and it had a head start. My Dad had a Corsica now I'm getting one. XD

Looks about 14 seconds. I have one and I am in third gear at 25mph and lockup at 35. 190k so I do not push it. Mine is a 2.2 as well.
