This year our govt spend several million dollars to ensure the po folks had money to transform their analog TVs to digital. That money could have gone towards something a bit more useful. If they cant make better decissions with our tax money, why the fuck do I want them in charge of my Health Care?
yes you are so right but the republicans and the conservativers blue dog deomcrats are to blame. they are always selling out the American people. they have brought the insurances the telecommunication companies. the republicans and the conservative democrats are never in the interest of the American people. and its very sad to see that they have that many brainless and misguided people that listen to the republicans lies.
The Democratic Lies r just as big as the Republican lies. How will the govt controlled HC b free? After all that is what the majority of the public believe that want Govt HC. The free HC lie came from the Dem Primaries, & many still believe it. I have a HC of $175 a month with no co pay & no deductible, with a 2 Million cap. Responsible adults would choose HC over a computer, going online, cell phones, drinking on weekends. Sorry, but ur argument would b ok, if u spoke of responsible adults.
@democratichypocrit yes, so for our well-being, we must sacrifice all the modern day conveniences that we've been told repeatedly are what make capitalism such a beloved institution
So u r saying that health care has the same value as typing on a computer on utube? If that is the way u think u will never be worth a shit. Capitalism, has worked great 4 me. If u cant make capitalism work for u thats your problem. HC & modern conveniences r only as expensive as YOU want them 2 be. The term "modern conveniences" is just another term 4 luxury anyway. Apparently being on a computer to u is as important as HC.
Typical answer from someone who cant make it happen. I have it & that is what is important 4 me. If u dont have it, that is your failure n life.
Darwin called it "Natural Selection". Its amazing that since the left is so caught up in equality for all social levels & races, they cant seem to accept Darwins Theory of Evolution, even though it counters the rights theory of creation. Funny how u pick & choose beliefs 4 your various political beliefs & agenda. Dont u love utube?
Selfish? Not in the least. Everyone has the capability to achieve HC. Now whether they capitalize on that capability is up to them. Just cause you want something, doesnt necesarily mean you will get it. You have to work to achieve it. Some people do not pursue it hard enough. Just like some on here would rather spend money on electronics, instead of first ensuring they are being repsonsible, like HC. Its all relative
But on your previous remarks, that is typical of a response from somone who does not believe n being responsible, & at the same time believing they r entitled. Life is what u make it. I want 2 be a millionaire, but it is not up to society to ensure I am. It is up 2 me. If u want 2 blame society 4 someone elses underachievement, go ahead. This opens the flood gates 4 people whom r responsible. So I dont dislike your belief, I embrace it, cause it opens countless doors 2 b successful. Thank you
need to have candidates sign a manifesto on what they will do if elected with tight legal wording so if they fail to do so they must resign - of course need some wiggle room if situations change but cannot just abandon pledges for no good reason. this will stp lies such as read my lips, change we can believe in yes we can nonsense.
Tax cuts help the economy you fool, omg it is such a crime to take less money from hard working americans. Tax cuts dont add to the deficit you idiot, government spending and transfer payments do. How about we abolish all the social programs you lib buddies created and we wouldnt have a deficit.
Yeah lets abolish all of them i agree with this guy fuck the post office the fire department social security the cops um and um whatever esle the govt runs or we could tax based on income keep and improve govt programs that work trow out trash and please please universal healthcare not this rediculus current or obama joke of a healthcare reform system
For someone feeling fit to call others fool you sure don't seem to understand the history of taxes. America (and any other nation for that matter) does best under a progressive tax system in which the wealthiest carry the heaviest burden. Why? So that the working class doesn't have to spend money on base necessities & can instead afford to consume the products businesses sell. Finally, fuck-o, we were in a SURPLUS when Bush came in...
I'm a socialist, and I would LOVE to live in a socialist country, but because I live in a capitalist economy its VERY hard to afford the move. If you promise to send me a ticket & the money to get re situated, I will GLADLY go.
Where is the change? We have 700 bases in 130 nations right now, that cost us a trillion a year. I say bring troops home from all those places, and close those bases. Thats real change. We arent seeing change...its the same republican/democrat thing we always see...nothing new.
Sad thing is Americans always fall for the "change' line. Every president has used that as their slogan.
LOL the people who thumbs doen me never owned a buisness, never hired anyone, never had to make a payroll. Their opinions dont even count as far as Im concerend. If it wasnt for us buisness owners, nobody would work.
So if you dont own a buisness or dont own property, then you shouldnt vote.
Cenk, if you want "results", why are you not beating the drum about campaign contribution reform?
Until "legalized bribery" is stopped, there will be no meaningful results produced. That should be number one on the agenda. After that, the lobbyists would be out of work. Then getting real results would be a lot easier.
Make the penalty for bribery of a senator or representative the loss of a limb, of the amputee's choice.
Okay, maybe a bit extreme, but make it scary enough they don't do it.
What do you want? For those that work hard to pay for those who dont? Screw that. This is America, not a communist state where everybody gets taken care of.
This medicare expansion = no good. Next year when we throw the liberals out of congress and take it back, we will reverse all this anyway. Barney Fag who caused this mess by forcing banks to give loans to people with no credit, will have to deal with it. You liberals amaze me...you support Barney when it is HE that caused this mess.
No, I don't want a free ride. I want to be able to buy insurance from a non-profit that does not pay its directors a billion dollars per year while refusing my (now dead) wife treatment because she is diabetic.
I worked hard all my life, owned my own company, payed taxes and paid into social security. I just want justice.
By your answer you just demonstrated your ignorance... facepalm...
The Czars were first implemented by Ronald Reagan... and have NO POWER... they're just advisors.
The public option is, as it name states, OPTIONAL
Other countries... Who cares? Well... everyone that wants the US to be on par with the rest of the world cares. We're behind in everything. The only thing that we're still no.1 at is the armed forces.
I assume you don't have a passport...and have never been in a different country
Czars have too much power. We shouldnt have to pay them either.
Public option is no option. How can insurance companies compete with the endless resources of the goverment? If I own a donut shop, and the goverment opens a donut shop next door, Im finished. They can spend whatever it takes to drive me out of buisness.
Nobody has a "right" to health care.
Other countries...you mean England? Germany? Lines waiting to see a doctor. Nations taken over by Muslims from the middle east. Lovley
@ calimar28: Wrong ! Everybody has a right to health care.....use the money spent on guns, abolish the right to bear arms.... get your priorities right USA !.... after all you never shut the fuck up about Jesus and religion !
I dont yap about religion at all. But I'll tell you what. Slow up immigration to something reasonable, and bring all troops home from around the world, and the we can talk about health care for everyone. Deal?
The constitution...it is by nature an "anti socialist document". National health care or public options or expanded medicare is socialist...just what Hamilton and Jefferson were worried about. The goverment is out of control and tyranical by shoving these programs down our throats.
The DittoHeads dont know that Teabaggers means cock and ball lickers today. How can we expect them to know what the term 'Czar' means within American usage or that it was the title of Imperial Russia not Communist Soviets? Or that it is the Russian form of Caesar?
They are Dittoheads with a Teabag on their chins. I blame the American schools and these are the ones who went to the better ones.
So much for reform :( i've been following your coverage of the health care bill and it's so disappointing, i'm from the UK and it would be great for you guys to get a proper medical cover for everyone. I hope you guys get at least something good from it. :( ps great show as always
Is not the answer to all this the same as it always was have i just lost the want the need for life and prosperity
,
isn't the answer EDUCATION FOR OUR KIDS, look i don't even have kids but in order for the future to be prosperous people have to start investing in the kids and we are not just talking money but also time a child can have all the financial stability needed but still not know what to do with it one must embrace imagination in the child (if u cant create how can u excel) some1answr
The answer is to ABOLISH THE GOD DAMN INCOME TAX. You liberals are quick to pour money into education (doesnt help), or health care...where does the money come from? By keeping taxes high you drive buisness out of the country = less jobs. Have any of you tried owning a buisness? Making a payroll? It's almost impossible, when we pay 33% to the federal goverment, and that doesnt even include payroll tax!
The answer is less spending and ablolish income and payroll tax.
more jobs did emerge. Moreover, bush's tax cut ws a joke. So instead of paying 35% I paid 32%...so a 3% cut is what it amounted too after you do the math. So I got to keep 3% more of my earnings...big deal.
What we need is to abolish the income tax altogether. I can barley survive with my small business, and I barley pay my bills. But because if income tax, Im underwater. The IRS doesnt care. So the whole god damn thing needs to be scrapped.
From the early 1930's until Reagan took presidency the top income tax bracket were always taxed at least 63%. Nowadays, the owners of big business scream about not being able to make new jobs, because of the burdensome 15% capital gains tax. I agree, small business owners should get more of a leash, but it's clear that big business is crushing small business now, too. I own a general store, so I feel the sting as well.
GOD DAMN IT the majority is supposed to win, that is the fucking point of DEMOCRACY the republicans are fighting like fucking children and they need to STFU
The majority is ruling...and the majority is the republicans + the blue dogs...that = a majority. Liberals are only 22% of the voting public. Your the minority. My God, the "Tea Party" (which isnt even a party...yet) is 26%! The GOP is 23%. So there are more "Tea Party" voters than there are liberal voters!
Obmama is down to 46%. Congress? 10%! Doesnt look good for the democrates in 2010. I'm just saying...
seems 2 me Obama is NOT fighting them. you`ve been had (again). only thing right about barack is that he is black. And on afganistan .. the US has its troops there and in iraq for when then shit breaks out between iran and israel.
Wrong. You missed the Tea Party movement? You know, that "fringe' which happens to be a full 26% of the voters now (the "liberals" are just 22%),,,you know, the "Fring" Pelosi is talking about? And they side mostley with the GOP which is 23%.So C wins. You want a referendum? I'd LOVE IT!
See, the people are angry since we cannot afford new programs. Dump the income tax and payroll tax, slow up immigration, and then we will talk about national health care. Thats the deal...
not that it matters to me either way...but the bill is deficit neutral on paper only because u will start paying for it now but it will not take effect until 2013 at the earliest. also cuts to medicare stave off some cost
If the goverment drops the un-constituional income tax right now, they would still collect as much as they did in 2001! Money from the states, federal property taxes etc...even tarrifs (which I am all for). We didnt have an income tax before 1913...how did goverment get by back then?
Um... yes I remember some idiots, that didn't even know what they were protesting against, march in Washington on sept.12, that shit was funny as hell :p ... the signs were hilarious, lol
I also remember Obama winning the election. Were you here when we had a landslide victory? Or where you hiding under a rock?
Newsflash dude, the healthcare bill is deficit neutral.
Maybe if you watched less faux noise and read NPR or watched PBS you'd be better informed.
I like how he uses the terms Liberals and Conservatives to hide the fact that the Democrats are the ones stopping health *insurance* reform. You guys won the election, so do something.
You're flooding this video with loads of pointless babble.
I am 100% FOR healthcare reform in America, and I've said that already, if you're going to have another maniac blow off at me typing like a moron then forget it, really your English language skills are terrible seeing as you can't decipher anything I say.
A few things about your Sweden Theory....For one the population in Sweden is that of California if that....and having a degree does not mean you have a job....
I have to agree with you...the prob with power is either you use it an abuse the otherside or your to scared to use it...People scream Obama but the bill is not even on his desk its up to congress to make this happen he will sign what they bring....
as much as i think the president needs to get in there more, hes already tackling so many things at once. People are like why isnt he focusing on health care 100% of the time when hes got like 75 other things to do. And the president did mention the public option as a corner stone to reform in his address to congress. Look the problem isnt obama. the problem is the congressmen and senators that are bought and owned by the insurance companies
I'm talking about if there is life saving medicine and the powers that be are NOT allowing people to have them who need them, what option do you have left?
You take the medicine by force. Why should they have control over it and not distribute it to those in need?
I hope you understand what I meant now. Maybe if you had used a fraction of your brain you'd have understood, but you don't, and from how you speak I doubt you ever have.
yeah, I don't know much about the UK health system, but it sounds good. In the netherlands we got more or less the same system as in scandinvian countries. It's way better than the american healthcare system. They're letting their own people die.
Why, why, why, does the US not understand that profiteering from other people's ill health is just plain immoral? Obama is a severe disappointment. The rest of the world is shaking its head in dismay. We would laugh if it wasn't so tragic.
Capitalism and free markets must be based on the welfare of the people, for the people and by the people. Why does the US not understand and practise its own magnificent constitution?
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO people dont have to be poor they choose to be poor by there decisions- thats in every country except communist countries or those ran by terrorist
Northern Europe is part of a spectrum of economic flavors across the continent.
All have socialized healthcare and social safety nets of some kind. The point is that those that tax the rich more & are more democratic & equal have done better.
Regulations in Germany for instance, like solar panels on all new buildings, stimulate innovation too.
It was market hype, neglect of skills base & gross inequality that crashed.
LOLOLOLOL really????? Listen Im 2nd Gen out of the projects in Chicago my Grandparents raised 9 kids my parents 5 hell to be honest I had a child at 16....We as a family got our ish together going to some of the worst schools in one of the most racist cities so please get up get out an get something...learn the game an not complain-you can't help the poor if you are poor
It's funny they compromise with each other but they don't compromise with the people whom they work for. We the people. The people want a strong public option at the least. Give the people what they want!!! The whole thing makes me sick!
I really wonder what happens to the premiums that are paid out. If you've been paying for healthcare for years, then the money should add up. Even if you don't go to a doctor. Yet, depending on the circumstances the insurance companies always have some clause as to why they won't cover certain tests. What the hell happened to funds that I paid into that I need for my care?
Throwing out public option... Way to throw out the whole point of health-care reform. My family is stuck on Medicaid and our (state) coverage is way better than it ever was when my father actually had a job that covered us. If we make people have health care, prices will rise, but if we have a government public option to compete as a business (like Amtrack) then the can help neutralize the rising prices.
Yet another day where i get to praise my luck i wasn't born in the US. What a fucked up country.
It's not that i think Denmark is the shit. We have our problems as well. But we do have public health care (which costs a LOT less than the typical american insurance btw), our schools and universities are free for all, and we ended up winning the "number one happiest people" recently. It's not all bad.
I'm a paying TYT member because i love the fight you guys are putting up.
I believe it's important for the whole world as well. All the bull that's going on in the US fucks up things for the rest of us too. Talking about countries that's a danger to the rest of the world? The US in on top of my list. Not because the americans in general are the problem. The problem is that you allow your politicians to be bought and paid for. I mighten have cared if this didn't mean that the rest of the world suffers from it, but in fact we do.
I hate how weak the democrats are even when in power. I have no hope for this country anymore. Obama and the dems in congress didn't have the balls to push healthcare through when they could have.
I don't think my heart can take much more of the lack of spine in Washington. I am being pushed to where the GOP wants me, apathetic, so they can destroy our country and its people without a fight.
Is it their goal to deprive of us of healthcare and safe food so we'll die before we reach 65 after working ourselves to the bone at thankless low paying jobs? We are like the dogs on animal farm when you get too sick to work they tie a rock to your mouth and sink you to the bottom of the lake
Sorry, what this whole reform is devolving into is a better deal for the insurance companies disguised as reform just to sucker us. How can you not see that congress represents the special interests, not us?
your wrong there r so many people who cant get insurance at all and those people would have a chance to get health care so they dont have to die and if u dont believe that then get dropped and become 1 of them
its in the thousands in some states its prob like $5000 i found out from 1 of my friends with 2 people in the house its $10 000 but my friend had been born with something so thats y hers might be more but still
but whats the average per month per person? my 132 euros includes all medical services.... no cost added after a visit to hospitals or dentist visits.
Are you saying you pay an average of $400 a month?
also that includes dental but its mass and we r going by baucus's bill and that is y the insurance companys r like lets cash out on people in mass so it really sucks but thats y we need reform
The average American pays around $7000 per year for healthcare insurance. Roughly three times the amount you pay in the Netherlands... and their healthcare system is ranked 37th.... way below yours. Sucks huh?
$7000 in the US per y. Euros 1600 ($2240) Netherlands per. y.
Sucks.... pffffff That is un-real. Your health care is killing you. Your further down the list of health care then the Netherlands but you pay so much fuc...ing more. Your being robbed blind.
And I hear senators and other US health care officials talking about the US have the best health care in the world!!!!!
I say take them out back and plug them one,,,oke maybe two or three. Why hasn't this happened yet???????????
Quoting monthly expenses can be misleading, its the percentage of income that is more relevant.
In America, the average person WITH health insurance spends 18% of there income on health related expenses. (premiums, deductibles, other chit not covered)
In Japan, Australia and Canada, its 3%, The Crazy French spend 8%, but they have the best system money can buy.
Important note, that all of these %'s are matched by their employer. That cost is debilitating to American business.
its accually 417 a month and that is not including dental
that is what i got from my friend who lives in mass different states pay different amounts sorry it took me so long to reply i wanted to find out what the amount was and that is per person
"Taxation without representation is Tyranny" James Otis- Revolutionary war slogan
It should be pretty obvious at this point that on the issue of Health care reform, we are not being democratically represented by this corrupt congress. The rest of this sad fact is that this is also true for everything else: financial reform, military spending and war, tax rates etc etc. We the People are not represented by this government- we are not a democracy.
How are you not being represented by Congress? Obama was elected with a majority by people who wanted health care reform. Now we have health care reform. The majority of people in this country think our health care system needs reform. And you might be taxed but YOU DO HAVE REPRESENTATION. Those using taxation without representation as an argument shows that they don't understand the historical meaning of that statement or the present day context of their argument.
I am so disappointed in this administration. I haped for the change taht Obama talked about. He has let the conservatives and Insurance companies run the country once again. I QUIT the Dems. We need a striong party and reps in goverment that DONT SUCK!!! How do we do that??? What does it take to get honest peolple in gov to help the people and wont cave in to money and preasure from assholes determined to ruin this country?
dumbies, accept the medicare compromise and then take it to the supreme court for being unconsitiutionally prejudice against age, forcing the government to pay for the medicare... and what about all these unaborted babies the Reps. want to be born, whose gonna pay their health care???
we are going to be in afgahnastan until we run out of people i mean siriously if people where smart they would stay away from everything that has to do with war in any way shape or form
but there r alternitives to oil they just dont want to use them and if the republicans start to run out of oil they will just bomb a place that has some
that is true but the motives you mentioned are unfounded. They want oil because there is alot of money in investing in oil but renewable energy, not as much. Aside, renewable energy is still being put through research and getting better so everyone thinks it's expensive.
iraq was caz of oil eventho the republicans had other places they could have gotten the oil but the morons accually tried to go for renewable engergy i bet they could find some way to make it more expensive but instead they rather poison people and kill them exspecailly minorities
Dean was backpedaling tonight. Just a few days ago Dean was saying Public Option- reconciliation or filibuster.Period Now he's semi-backing this shit bill. I hope the DeanBots have finally seen his true colors. Dean is no more a progressive than Rahm.
Capitalism is a economic state, but it think it applies very well to the goverment in the US. Democracy has taken a back seat to capitalism. Politicians no longer serve the people, instead they serve whoever has the money. This Quasi-Capatalistic-Republic that the US is going through right now is something that would be viewed as treasonous by the founding fathers. Foreign interest lobby groups control our goverment more than it's own people do.
To clarify become I get rants from either political side...
Republicans are better at this, and do it more frequently. They let their "news" anchors do it, and then comment on the fucked up bigoted opinions these so-called-journalists provide to millions of viewers.
If you arn't laughing at this whole staged performance, you're either pissed off or believe everything you hear.
i think the entire US government needs to be restructured. it cares more about the number of states than the population, it gives the redneck nutjobs who vote against their own interests, more power than the sane people in populous states.
the electorial college is bullshit to say the least. it basically removes the vote from everyone, as we saw in 2000. it wasn't just because our worst president since probably Taft was elected, but that the supreme court had to decide that election, means we had a breakdown of what an election is. only THREE presidents have won the Electoral College and lost the popular vote. Rutherford Hayes in 1876, Grover Cleveland in 1888, and guess who, in 2000.
I'm talking mostly about the senate, california with 10% of the US's population has 2% of representation in the Senate. Wyoming has 0.2% of the US's population and still 2% of the representation in the Senate. That's FUCKED UP.
but there is inequality in the house, and the electoral college too. our pluralistic voting system crushes third parties, we need runoff or instant runoff elections instead.... the whole representative process in the federal government is fucked.
it still crushes third parties that on a national scale have support at least equivalent to one house seat.
california has ~69x the population of wyoming, but only 54x as many represenatives, it's still unbalanced, and gives people in small states more say than people in big states.
Yarmuth sounds like a complete tool. He's spouting the same "liberal" rhetoric half the time, and when he gets into something he thinks he knows about, he flounders on the ideas. I might be wrong, but I get the feeling he knows nothing detailed about what he has to say. He targets republicans for their ineptitude, rather than provide viable, practical ideas. He is either bad at interviews or he doesn't know what he's talking about. Everything he says comes from a playbook, it's not original.
The public option sets a trend. If it works, people will want socialized health care and you kill a billion dollar per-year industry. the problem stems from threat of a backlash from big business if this trend could be the end of corporate control 20-30 years from now. these people are smart, and they're thinking 10 moves ahead. this is a chess game against greed and what motivates it vs. what logically helps all of humanity. we are doomed unless we learn the game and know how to win.
In the end you are going to have to make that decision. Which is more important, a billion dollar industry, or peoples health. Anyone who tells you the insurance companies wont suffer from a public option is lying to you. And anyone who tells you people don't suffer because insurance companies want to make a profit is lying to you.
There is no way to look after both sides.
It was this way in every other modern nation too. It came about after a moral decision was made, not an economic decision.
I'm not an economist, but I think economy needs to be boosted from new job creation by entrepeneurships. Maybe tax incentive, and tariff? Instead of giving it to the banks, give it directly to the businesses.
the only way this is going to work is if it's medicare for all. That's the only way you're going to have a sufficiently large pool of payers to provide easily affordable health care to everybody who need it.
THEN the private insurance companies become insurers for things over and above what medicare provides. ie. elective optional procedures in private hospitals etc etc.
Have a look at the way Australia balances public and private health insurance. It works extremely well!!!
if public option will be available in 2014, doesnt that mean that the government isnt hiding 2012, think about it,why would they plan something for when it occurs that, 2/3 of our population would be killed? interesting right? so all u retardid people out there who believe in Planet X's moons crashing into earth, FUCK YOU

What does universal healthcare mean?
What other developed country does not have universal healthcare?

Czars? Illegal power brokers.
Public Option? Goverment run crap.
Universal health care? Goverment crap.
Other nations? Who cares?
I dont defend NeoCons either. They are just as bad.
calimar28 2 years ago
By your answer you just demonstrated your ignorance... facepalm...
The Czars were first implemented by Ronald Reagan... and have NO POWER... they're just advisors.
The public option is, as it name states, OPTIONAL
Other countries... Who cares? Well... everyone that wants the US to be on par with the rest of the world cares. We're behind in everything. The only thing that we're still no.1 at is the armed forces.
I assume you don't have a passport...and have never been in a different country
javixm 2 years ago
Czars have too much power. We shouldnt have to pay them either.
Public option is no option. How can insurance companies compete with the endless resources of the goverment? If I own a donut shop, and the goverment opens a donut shop next door, Im finished. They can spend whatever it takes to drive me out of buisness.
Nobody has a "right" to health care.
Other countries...you mean England? Germany? Lines waiting to see a doctor. Nations taken over by Muslims from the middle east. Lovley

MrPrimitivodominguez 2 years ago
The answer is to ABOLISH THE GOD DAMN INCOME TAX. You liberals are quick to pour money into education (doesnt help), or health care...where does the money come from? By keeping taxes high you drive buisness out of the country = less jobs. Have any of you tried owning a buisness? Making a payroll? It's almost impossible, when we pay 33% to the federal goverment, and that doesnt even include payroll tax!
The answer is less spending and ablolish income and payroll tax.
calimar28 2 years ago
why didn't more jobs emerge after Bush handed out the largest tax cut in history?
ToTheConquered 2 years ago
more jobs did emerge.
So the whole god damn thing needs to be scrapped.
calimar28 2 years ago
From the early 1930's until Reagan took presidency the top income tax bracket were always taxed at least 63%. Nowadays, the owners of big business scream about not being able to make new jobs, because of the burdensome 15% capital gains tax. I agree, small business owners should get more of a leash, but it's clear that big business is crushing small business now, too. I own a general store, so I feel the sting as well.

A) Universal healthcare that covers every single legal citizen
B) A public health insurance that doesn't deny care
C) Keep everything as is

javixm 2 years ago 2
The problem with referendums is that they're democratic and so don't apply to our sociatey
chailfield 2 years ago
Thats the deal...
calimar28 2 years ago
No... the deal would be something like that only if the neo-cons and wingnuts hadn't spent all the money on Iraq
The people aren't angry at that... people are angry at inaction and stupidness.
I clearly remember 9 Years ago we had a surplus when the neo-cons took office... now we have deficit...
Dude, dump all the taxes? Then how is the government supposed to operate?
When there's deficit, the taxes have to be raised to compensate, I remember Bush passing the biggest tax cut for the rich.
javixm 2 years ago
not that it matters to me either way...but the bill is deficit neutral on paper only because u will start paying for it now but it will not take effect until 2013 at the earliest. also cuts to medicare stave off some cost

If the goverment drops the un-constituional income tax right now, they would still collect as much as they did in 2001! Money from the states, federal property taxes etc...even tarrifs (which I am all for). We didnt have an income tax before 1913...how did goverment get by back then?

There is a table with medicine on it which can treat them,
there are doctors who want to treat them,

what do you do?

It is free to everybody..
It is much cheaper.

Just like that. not even a form to sign usually.

Northern Europe is part of a spectrum of economic flavors across the continent.
All have socialized healthcare and social safety nets of some kind. The point is that those that tax the rich more & are more democratic & equal have done better.

It was market hype, neglect of skills base & gross inequality that crashed.

I really wonder what happens to the premiums that are paid out. If you've been paying for healthcare for years, then the money should add up. Even if you don't go to a doctor.

It's not that i think Denmark is the shit. We have our problems as well. It's not all bad.

Wake up
duster011 2 years ago
How are you not being represented by Congress? Obama was elected with a majority by people who wanted health care reform. Now we have health care reform. The majority of people in this country think our health care system needs reform. And you might be taxed but YOU DO HAVE REPRESENTATION. Those using taxation without representation as an argument shows that they don't understand the historical meaning of that statement or the present day context of their argument.

that is true but the motives you mentioned are unfounded. They want oil because there is alot of money in investing in oil but renewable energy, not as much. Aside, renewable energy is still being put through research and getting better so everyone thinks it's expensive.
Daclunator 2 years ago
iraq was caz of oil eventho the republicans had other places they could have gotten the oil but the morons accually tried to go for renewable engergy i bet they could find some way to make it more expensive but instead they rather poison people and kill them exspecailly minorities
kazooga1234 2 years ago
=_= no, iraq was because of the oil, correct but the only ones who win in war are:
the investors
the banks

IIIIFile13IIII 2 years ago 3
@IIIIFile13IIII
As to your first paragraph, you do know that the house is based on population right? CA has way more reps than WY in that legislative body.
iowacub1 2 years ago
it still crushes third parties that on a national scale have support at least equivalent to one house seat.
california has ~69x the population of wyoming, but only 54x as many represenatives, it's still unbalanced, and gives people in small states more say than people in big states.
IIIIFile13IIII 2 years ago
also the senate is more powerful. so it doesn't matter that one of the houses is fair...er

If it works, people will want socialized health care and you kill a billion dollar per-year industry. the problem stems from threat of a backlash from big business if this trend could be the end of corporate control 20-30 years from now. these people are smart, and they're thinking 10 moves ahead. this is a chess game against greed and what motivates it vs. what logically helps all of humanity. we are doomed unless we learn the game and know how to win.
thecellarlife 2 years ago 3
not if there are morons like you that are willing to still suck off your insurance company.
NuLLx42 2 years ago
In the end you are going to have to make that decision. Which is more important, a billion dollar industry, or peoples health. Anyone who tells you the insurance companies wont suffer from a public option is lying to you. And anyone who tells you people don't suffer because insurance companies want to make a profit is lying to you.
There is no way to look after both sides.
It was this way in every other modern nation too. It came about after a moral decision was made, not an economic decision.

I'm not an economist, but I think economy needs to be boosted from new job creation by entrepeneurships. Maybe tax incentive, and tariff? Instead of giving it to the banks, give it directly to the businesses.
rbrtchng 2 years ago
argh....
the only way this is going to work is if it's medicare for all.

The public option would pass if not for a few moderate senators who hold too much control in the senate because of their opposal.
xitongzou 2 years ago
if public option will be available in 2014, doesnt that mean that the government isnt hiding 2012, think about it,why would they plan something for when it occurs that, 2/3 of our population would be killed? interesting right? so all u retardid people out there who believe in Planet X's moons crashing into earth, FUCK YOU
