Gentlemen, this is why you DO NOT take your wife along in the seaplane. Women will always bicker and complain, thus starting arguments in the cockpit just before touchdown. This causes confusion and lack of attention to the checklist.. the guy here was busy worrying about his wifes bitching rather than going through the checklist.. tsk tsk tsk .. the NTSB will tell you, never bring your wife along .. it's extrememly hazardous and leads to aircraft damage or possible death. ;-)

There is or was a video of the same thing in reverse. I float plane pilot sets down on a runway with wheels up. Didn't flip just slid along grinding the floats down. Afterward he said he "forgot to lower the gear". I see an FAA piss test coming. For this guy too.

Thats a shame, thats not a cheap plane, especially with those retractable gear.I just flew with a guy in a beaver with floats and gear. it was my first time on floats, and he told me if your flying with another person its common float plane curtesie to say "check gear" a lot for redundancy.
