@laurapoopie Hi i was wondering if you can show me a picture of the mold you used for his hand. I have loooked up and down the aisles of Michaels and cant find it anywhere. Please help!
Hi! Sorry you're having such a tough time finding it. Have you gone to Hobby Lobby? The mold actually looks like the shape of the hand. LOL! It comes in a tiny little package that has clear plastic in front so you can see the molds. The cardboard part of it has green and it comes in a set of 3 sizes of hands. The entire package isn't more than 4" tall. It's really little. Make sure you are searching in the aisle where they have the sculpey clay and molds and stuff. Hope that helps. :)
Hi! Thank you for the wonderful compliment. I'm so sorry but would you mind rewording your question? I'm not too sure what you mean by "bace"? If you are referring to the holes that are in the bottom tier, those are straws I put in there to withstand the weight of the tier on top. :) Look forward to your reply! :)
Hey thanks! You can get it at any craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Be sure to look in the aisle where they sell the sculpting tools and clay. :)
LAURA ME ENCANTA TUS CREACIONES. YA ME SUBSCRIBI =))) AQUI TIENES UNA FAN ;) TIENES UN ARTE Y UN TALENTO QUE DIOS TE LO BENDIGA .MI HIJO DE 5 AñOS LE ENCANTAN LOS MONITOS, ME ENCANTARIA APRENDER A HACERLOS.
May I ask how many people this will feed, and could you tell me what cutters you used for the hands? BTW congrats on your Marriage and your new venture. You're really doing it chica!!!
Thank you for the congrats and glad you like this cake! This was a pretty small cake. An 8" and a 6". Probably feed around 28 or so.... Really depending on how they cut it. :)
You are such a talented lady, Laura! I love looking at your fondant cake creations! I get a lot of inspiration from them. Thank you for sharing! More power to you and God bless!
Me explico?
@laurapoopie ok! :) Do you give lessons? I tried to make an ocean-themed cake for my son's 1 year old birthday in February. I made fondant creatures...totally LAUGHABLE but it was so fun! lol
Unfortunately, at this time I don't provide lessons but am planning tutorial DVD's for the future so keep watching! I'm sure your creatures were adorable. :0)
you make excellent cakes!!!were you self taught or did you take classes?i'm kind of starting,it's a hobby right now.i was youtube taught,by u and others, thanks!!
Thank you so much! Wow! What an honor to know that you've been able to use my videos to help you create cakes! That's WONDERFUL! I'm pretty much self-taught as well! I've been baking cakes seen I was a teen and did minor decoration but it wasn't until I saw my friend Mayen's awesome cakes here on YouTube that I started decorating cakes SERIOUSLY! I've had a blast and I STILL love it! :0) Keep at it girl! :0)
I love the expressions of the monkeys!! And I love them holding the letters too. How did you cut out their hands? They are all so uniform! And I noticed you airbrushed the cakes seperately? I was stacking and then airbrushing when doing two (or 3) tones. Great job again!
Thanks Kerry! Glad you liked it! :0) Oh, yes, there are little hand cutters I bought at Hobby Lobby. You can find them in the aisle where they sell the clay and sculpting tools. :0)
OMG this is super cute! I love the monkey's Laura, I wish more people would order stuff like this from me so that i can do characters like this! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Thank you! The actual decoration only took about an hr. Making the monkeys took several hours dispersed among a day. I charged my client $9/slice for this cake because of the hand-sculpted elements. :0)
Thank you! Glad you liked my monkeys! Yes, the cutters come in a little pack of 3 different sized hands and you can find them at any craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Be sure to look for them in the aisle where they sell the sculpey clay and all the sculpting tools. :0)
Who doesn't like monkeys? TOO CUTE! This is one of my favorite. I love monkeys and blue and green are my favorite colors. The monkeys look like they're having a great time. The clouds look so light and airy like marshmallows. I'm hungry now. I got to mention the bananas, there's just enough and placed just right. There's a lot but not too many, perfect. I am so impressed with this cake! OK, THIS IS MY FAVORITE! Then you'll make another one and it'll be my favorite too, LOL! I heart U! XOXOXO
Thank you! I use a cutter of course! There's no way I could ever get the hands and feet that perfect. Can you imagine! LOL! I'd be cutting hands and feet for weeks! LOL! Glad you liked it girl! :0)
So great! love these cakes, how did you do the clouds? they are great!
