I had a 1991 Ninety Eight. It was gold, leather interior, and had a hell of a good heater. Plus the 3800 V6 is one of the best engines General Motors ever produced.
These were much improved bodies over the 86-90 Ninety-Eights, but GM had already lost all their market share of the big Olds to Ford's Mercury Marquis by this time, and there was no turning back... They were good driving and handling cars, but the customers for the 98 and 88 were older and still looking for RWD large cars...
@OLDS98 Yeah i know all about series II and III, i have series III in my 04 grand prix i love that engine, i was curious about the one that started it all lol
Isn't it odd how everyone used times new roman font in advertising back then while they use calibria font for now? What's next? Speaking of which, i miss oldsmobile; they made pretty good cars.
i own a ninety eight with a rag top and its balls to the wall fast with the vtech system under the hood

Does anyone know how much horsepower the 3800 in this had? It was the series 1 right?
Declipse16 2 years ago
It had a 170 hp. In 1995 Series II started, it was 205 hp. The fuel economy went up too.

Witness the car that killed Oldsmobile. Went from a huge seller in the 70's and 80's to being beaten by Pontiac and Buick.

Love these cars. Big floating highway cruisers. Same thing as Buick Park Ave. I like that one too.

A classic car. Gotta love that square trunk with the so-called debuts of aero-dynamism lol.
