@purplewolfking From all that I've read on Japanese ghosts, they basically don't give a shit. Especially the women ghosts. Depending on how they died is dependent on how forgiving they'll be. If they died a horrible death or died when they weren't ready, you better watch out! Or they'll curse you out of bitterness.

@purplewolfking ....Christianity is a minority religion in Japan, with perhaps less 1% of Japanese that call themselves Christian. So the belief of meeting in Heaver after death is not a common belief. Also, what Sumomi tried to tell you does not really apply to this story. The type of ghost he tried to talk about is a Onryō, a vengeful ghost. Onryō, seeks revenge for wrongs done to them in life. That doesn't apply here. This story is about a Yūrei who wants to be with her beloved, that's all.

@lakshmirocks510 in japanese forklore, when a person dies normally, the body goes into purgatory, which means that the spirit waits for a proper funeral and then passes on. however if the person dies from suicide or murder (no body) it becomes a yurei

(ghost) yurei's are often harmless but sometimes driven by emotions, love, sorrow, hatred etc, these often haunt the places they died in, the person they hate/love or people who just happens to be on wrong places! hope it cleared it up for you :D

In Jpn folklore there are several types of Yūrei....Sorei who are family Ancestor Spirits who protect the living....Ubume who were mothers who died in childbirth or when their children are young...Funayūrei are those who died at sea....Eirei are the Yūrei of Samurai or Heroes or those who died in war.
