you've changed my confidence to do this shit. thank you. Please do a brief MIXING TUTORIAL. DRUMS vs LEAD vs BASS EQs. That's the main thing that rattles my nerves before playing tracks for people. What do you do? What's your general rule. please share with a vid

hey there man, loving the tutorials! just wondering what pc set-up you've got? im looking to upgrade from my bait laptop to a real pc and noticed when you pressed play there was no dsp increase! i'd get that track up on here and i wouldn't even be able to press play so specs please!!
Could you make a video about mixing? My mixes always turn out sludgy and awful. I feel like I have to make insane changes in mastering to cover up all my mistakes. It would be really helpful to see how you get everything so dialed in before you even start mastering.
Great video, dude! Don't be too apologetic about lack of mastering knowledge. We're living in a world where ANYONE can be a musician because of all this great software and computer power. Among the millions of aspiring musicians on the internet without a degree in sound engineering you're among the best. You're in my top 20 YouTube artists actually!
Your track sounds incredible, because you're talented, have good taste and actually use common sense while mixing! Keep it up!
Thanks for the video by the way - it was definitely helpful. The thing that struck me the most was how compressed/controlled your mix was before mastering. My mixes are a lot more dynamic before the mastering stage and as a result I probably end up trying to boost the gain more than I should have to.
Despite studying sound for two years, and reading up plenty, I only found out a week ago that some guys clip their mixes. Thing is, in some DAW's there's plenty of headroom above 0dB before you start hearing artefacts, while in others and in some media players, the same thing will be heavily distorted. Is there a "safe zone" you stick to, or a certain digital system/media player you reference in to make sure? iTunes for example automatically adjusts everything so that won't help.
trial and error mate... Even these so called mastering geniuses...must have polished a lot of turds in their days.......im sure... thx again for the tut..
You were Clipping the Master Output with the Master Suite enabled, just to let you know. Try turning the Maximizers 4ms Look Ahead on and with a fast attack or enable Soft Clip. This will avoid any clipping the Master Ouput.
@ProfessaKA0S as I watched more of the video you go over this. But you should try to avoid any clipping as when playing your music of other systems it may result in nasty digital distortion.
@ODSTHelljumper Cool you'll just be running the risk of unwanted digital distortion on your listeners systems and possibly damaging your listeners speakers or headphones if played at loud volumes.
@ProfessaKA0S Except that as he said, he's intending for this to be used by DJs, and virtually all DJing apps (Traktor, Serato, etc..) have master output limiting.
@lococobra if the audio is clipping upon export from the DAW, the clipping artifacts will be embedded in the audio no matter how much limiting it done after.
nice. very helpful tutorial. what do you use for mastering outside of reason? i have been using ozone 4. Check out my soundcloud and let me know where im going wrong if you can. i am following you, called Fletty.

@djangotsp That also depends a lot on the genre of music you make and how the track is meant to be played.

@ProfessaKA0S I am aware of that and many dance music artists clip their stuff to hell, I'm still relatively subtle ;)
