Even knowing where the muscles are, having to recognize them on the plastic models for my anatomy lab exams is a whole different animal, so THANK YOU for making these videos.
thank you this is very helpful. just one correction, while the extensor digitorum does not act on the thumb it how ever does act on all 4 fingers, little included. im sure you knew that, but this is for anyonewatching.
I am currently studying artistic anatomy (for accurate figure drawing) and videos like this one have been very, very useful to me. Thanks for putting it together!
"Extensor digitorum...and this extends all of the fingers except for the thumb and little finger..."
CORRECTION: The Extensor digitorum includes Metacarpophalangeal joint(MCP) #2-5. So that means it INCLUDES the little finger! The extensor digitorum also extends the Proximal Interphalangeal joint (PIP) and Distal interphalangeal joint (DIP) by the "extensor hood," which inserts into the middle and distal phalanges.
Thank you for posting this!. I'm currently taking an accelerated Anatomy and Physiology class and this video trully helped me. Your video was very thorough in explaining the forearm muscles and tendons.
At 00:30 (and then again a while later), I think "plantar" fascia instead of Palmar fascia was slip of tongue (Dr Fabian may have been tutoring lower limb when this video was shot).
first of all it wasn't criticism..it was sarcasm...just a joke. as i said "JK" nice vid" ..geez, lighten up, its the holiday season for pete's sake! LOL.
I appreciate this video.

Lumbricals + IO extend DIP and PIP. Extensor digitorum = MCP.
Also, to make a fist you need to be able to extend your fingers - dont forget that.

great video apart from his mistake with the anconeous, which is easy to make as it's sooo overwhelming all this! even for someone of his standing.

upper limb is very very difficult

palmar fascia...not plantar
anconeus assists the triceps brachii in EXTENDING the elbow joint...not flexing

A little correction:
It's the palmar fascia (or palmar aponeurosis) - the plantar is the foot.
