Looks like your happy with whats happening for now. You have to take what there is I guess.
I heard on the news that Thailand is 1/3 flooded & the prime minister doesn't want to declare emergency & help. I guess it doesn't affect you either (???).
Hello, another one settle down in thailand am looking to build my own house in thailand aswel but not in a long time yet but hey can i ask the land these day in thailand what the cost per what ever you call it ?
@ExtraordinaryTK I did not have to buy the land, It has been in the wife's family for generations. But land costs depends on location more than anything in Thailand, Anything near the ocean is very expensive, Inland is much cheaper.
@lifeinthailand-The tile thing reminds me of an old woman in my wife's village stealing a bottle of whiskey from a guy's house who at the same time was stealing some lumber from the old woman's house and they meet half way between each other's houses. "What are you doing with my whiskey?!"..."What are you doing with my lumber?!"...They kind of looked at each other for a few seconds and went their merry way.
amazing how much is done by hand. I'm betting all the concrete was mixed by hand! What a nightmare to deal with all the issues. Hope the floods this weekend don't effect the building or you.
Lots of progress since your last update I think the finished job is going to be a very nice looking home. What are electricity costs like in Thailand will you have air-conditioning or is that a very expensive proposition. It never gets hot enough here to need it but I'm always amazed when I travel in the hot areas of Europe people just would never dream of air conditioning or a cloths dryer because it would cost a fortune to run.
@dalecalder2003 The cost of electric is reasonable but the AC can add up quick if your not careful. I am only putting AC in the master bedroom, But I am hopping with the thick walls and roof insulation I well not need it much, But I am ready if I do need it.
I well not be buying a cloths dryer, Even in the rain season it is not needed.
@lifeinthailand just out of curiousity, are you white? cause if i have a choice to move to another country i'll consider Thailand living somewhere near the beach
Good video but still very expensive for me .What do you get for about a million baht?
billbus12 1 day ago
@billbus12 A 1 bedroom Townhouse is about a million, Or a nice little studio condo, Lots of choice in the cities for a million or less.

Thats pretty cool. Looks like its gonna be a really solid house. Is block the typical method of construction there?
mhpgardener 4 months ago
@mhpgardener Yes most new houses made of block. Wood is hard to get and hard to take care of, Bugs like to eat it...
