@elicha1985 I asked myself the same question! Where did that paddle come from? Great routine, Canada has given many times original routines, thank you for the great show!
This is so unbelievably offensive. I am shocked that in 2009 such a routine would even be allowed. And it got perfect 10's???? The technical side of things were great yes, but the theme? COME ON! As a Canadian I find this so shameful. I am really in shock.
No one can deny that the routine was well choreographed and performed strongly. Obviously alot of hard work has gone into the routines Canada showed at this competition and I am very happy to see Canada moving back up in the World rankings. That being said, I think we have to recognize the validity of battery0check's comments. "Cowboys and Indians" is not symbolic of Canadian culture, and furthermore is racist at worst and culturally insensitive at best. I know Canada can do better.
afte seeing the same comment on CBC. i completely disagree with your opninion. Canada has NOTHING to be ashamed of.The idea is great and not racist. WAY TO GO canada you girls are awsome. With two amazing coahces like that it is only the begining of Canada's road to great success. I suggest that you re- evaluate your opinion towards a more objective one and start appreciate the hard work and creativity behind these routines

Canada's "thematic team' event was an embarassment. Their theme of "cowboys and natives" was not only unrepresentative of Canadian culture (which was the purpose of the event) but it was also racist and offensive. The painting of one's face brown to 'represent' native Canadians is beyond unacceptable and Synchro Canada should be ashamed to have put on such as disrespectful routine on in front of an international audience.
1:07, spain did that lift at Dali´s routine and in the last version of Africa.
1:30 - 1:40 it's just like a combination of Africa and Haunted House leg formations.
And most of the other movements and lifts are made with part of other routines (i saw the first jump in EVERY routine, if the duet could do it, they would do it too).
I don't want to be hating, don't worry, next competition will send everyone to his place.
Canada WON this championship with recycled routines and "stolen" movements. Of course that routines are good (if not, they wouldn't have stolen that movements). I love the old routines of canada, the old combo was just amazing, and their team in 2005 was incredibly beautiful. Now they only jump, and jump again.
The artistic movement are stolen??? SO, tell me why the came first if the juge were only juging the artistic???? Scuse me but Russia and Spain weren't artistic than canada in there routine!
I was just givin my opinion. Of course they were good, but only as goog as an imitation can be. They were first because the percent of the scored refered to the highlights was higher than in normal competition, and because they were at home, of course. Even in the solo program M.Piere had higher scores than she really deserved. I think that the canadian routines are better than this imitations.
Amazing routine! but it does seem very pc??

2 are from BC(Emilia and Sandy), 1 from ontario and the rest(9) are from quebec.

Yes it will, I agree. And all routines have moves that have been done by other teams before. Even Russia and Spain
