@OverActives oops, not that. what i meant to post was that an innocent grandmother had her grandson at the store and he was about to run into a busy street. she grabbed his arm (he was 3 years old) to save him. The police witnessed this event and said they were giving her a warning, but if it happened again, she would be prosecuted. ISNT THAT HORRIBLE?!

You can create boundaries for your children without resorting to physical violence. "Smacking" hurts. What are you teaching your kids with each smack? "It's ok to hurt another person and make them do what you want, as long as you're bigger than them."

Well done Simon! Your wife and girls should be very proud of you for speaking up on behalf of over 80% of New Zealanders! As parents ourselves of two young children, we too are offended by Sue Bradford's suggestion that we don't know the difference between a smack for correction purposes and a beating. WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS for lovingly raising our children with boundaries. If John Key doesn't listen to the majority of NZ'ers and throw this bill out, I will remember this at the next election
