so many lazy people abuse the placard system just to get a closer parking spot. i've seen so many people with a handicap plate or placard get out like nothings wrong. Not saying it wasn't issued without something being wrong, just that doctors prescribe the temporary ones for way too long of a period. They should only be good for recovery time not any longer than a year after the last incident that caused the handicap.

love this segment, but PLEASE understand that there are plenty of "healthy looking" people that have placards and are often unfairly stigmatized for being fakes. I am a 24 year old man that has severe back problems, but you might not know it by just looking at me. I cant tell you how many people have come up to and asked to see my paperwork or to tell me how much of a phony I am and that they will call the police. I always have my paperwork, but dont always assume people are faking it
I was wondering, because in NC, we use the handicapped placard by writing on a sheet of paper the number, and putting it on the windshield "Lost Handicapped Placard". If they was to implement this in North Carolina, I would know who stole my true placard.
