The smartest people in the world predict that we will have colonies on other planets within a few decades, and towns and cities within the next few hundred years. The same exact amount of water stays on the earth it just gets cycled. You drink water, you pee it out, your urine is 99% water, goes back into earth, gets evaporated, eventually rains back down in reservoirs. If we can out of oil we would probably be fine, just would have to use electric cars not that big a deal.

In 50 years there might be 10 billion people on earth sure, but we will also be a lot more advanced and could easily sustain ourselves. Also I don't think you really understand the water cycle. There are many ways to get fresh water, mainly from reservoirs which get refilled when it rains.

In 1,000 years time the world will be just as livable as it is today. The fact of the matter is however we are advancing very quickly right now people are already designing terraforming machines and trying to invent new technologies. We started designing computers in the 1940's and look at where they are at now. We have nothing to worry about.
