Next time you get to pick a series protagonist, pick Amuro Ray (0079 era.) You'll get a RX-78-2 (Basic). Just level that up to RX-78-2 and you're set.

Core Fighter evolving is also easy, yeah. It's not a hard unit to get. To get 00 Raiser: You need an 00 Gundam and a RAISER system part. Equip the RAISER system part onto the 00 Gundam and then attempt to "trade" it. (I forget the specific in-system name, but the option where you can change a unit into another unit entirely based on that unit's level.) Your only option will be 00 Raiser. You can then evolve 00 Raiser into 00 Raiser w/GN Sword III.

You get 1 OP Part for every stage you finish. RAISER system will always be the 123rd part you get. The easiest stage to finish is the first 0079 one. Just rush in with your Master unit and kill all the Zakus, don't bother triggering War Break.

It's very easy to recognize. The RAISER part is written in English, so if you see "RAISER", you're set.
