3/2 Kilo... Boat Raid Company.... I was making a landing on the USS Austin. The tailgate was down, Seas were getting rough,causing the ship to rock. Tailgate bobs in and out of water, The Zodiac goes under tailgate. This is all in the dark. Tailgate goes up,then goes down. First chance i got, I bailed, Swam my way out. Quite scary.

MEU ( SOC ) Special Operations Capable. Each Company within the MEU specializes in a mission, i.e. Small boats, helo's, amphib ops...etc. Obviously 2/7's specialty is the zodiac. Fox is the Company and the " Raiders " is their nickname

@teufel1917hunden Accurate, but slightly off. 2/7 is the battalion, not the company. Fox Company was the boat company. Other companies in 2/7 have Helo's (echo) and Tracks (Golf) The entire Battalion Landing Team--BLT--(and the entire Marine Corps, for that matter) specializes in amphibious operations. This is MEU specific. During combat deployments (as far as I know) there is no Helo, Boat, or Tracks company.
