@MacabreHeritage It doesn't matter what Thiel wants from his contributions. Ron Paul is above that sort of corruption. He doesn't pander to supporters. He'll push forward his message of limited government and sound currency. The fact that Thiel is one of the largest (if not THE largest) single contributor in any campaign might speak to his beliefs. If he wanted a personal return on his investments he'd be better off giving that money to Obama, Romney, or Gingrich. money talks
@MacabreHeritage Neither is any human. But there are some that are less affected by their attempts. Take a look at the house that Ron Paul lives in (vid in my playlists). Consider the fact that he doesn't take a Congressional pension, this man doesn't even TALK to lobbyists. So I consider this idea that he is being bought as a flagrant disregard for the facts. People are trying to demonize him. What good can come of that? Unlike you, I haven't lost hope in humanity.
I beg to differ, i know many humans that're above corruption. By nature of attaining their positions politicians are psychopaths, ergo corruption's rampant throughout the governing class and feeds down into society. Ron Paul's lived off congress for 20+ years.
White knight rides into town and saves the people from a seemingly hopeless situation. Ace in the hole.
@MacabreHeritage You seem helplessly apathetic. Unless you think we should tear it all down, then this is the system we have to work with. The question is, who do you support? No one is perfect, and Ron Paul is not exempt from that universal truth. Don't question my convictions as that will lead this conversation down a path to no where. Question your own positions. It is a never ending process. You're against Ron Paul, fine. Who are you for? What ideals do you support?
Even if RP were for real and had miraculously evaded all attempts to him being plane crashed/suicided/cancered, there's no way one politician could halt this agenda.
@MacabreHeritage I will not argue on that point. There is only so much that a single president can do. But he can be an example. He can set our foreign policy, make budget cuts, etc. There is a list of things that the president can do, as authorized by the constitution, that can have a significant impact not only in America, but throughout the world. No he won't be able to single-handedly cure everything, but he can put us on a path, he can educate, and he can set an example.
He can set an example? He voted no on preventing foreclosures, no on monitoring tarp to insure mortgage relief, no on job package, no on shareholders voting on C.E.O. compensation, no on criminalising cartels like opec, no on lobbyist disclosure of bundled donations, no on minimum wage and extending unemployment benefits and yes to attacking Afghanistan with D.U. coated munitions stealing their resourses and boosting the opium harvest.
people brains hurt when they have to think hard this stuff it to hard for most Americans to get they are like my daily life is to impotent to worry about this stuff i don't want to have to think wake the hell up people
its great to see a young mind that still has a concepty of objectivity.

Why doesn't RP simply give it back?
Do you seriously imagine a financier like Thiel doesn't expect a return on his investment?
