For green stuff it also helps to keep your hands wet and keep the green stuff moist so you don't get fingerprints in the finished product.

oh and for the scale, carve the squares in and use the stickieness to stick to each squar and pull them out and down VERY gently, :P

They count as Chaos Dwarfs, they have their own army list, which you can find on Games Workshop's website in a PDF format.
