Ichigo matched Aizen, and Aizen felt content, thus him releasing the hogyoku. When Ichigo made that statement, that was the writer giving us insight on the situation.

@TheNaniPT Ichigo's only chance of "finishing him off" was Mugetsu. He couldn't have actually killed Aizen any other way. And his only chance failed. Whether or not it was the Hougyoku that protected him doesn't matter at all. If Aizen created and used the Hougyoku correctly, that only credits him even more lol. @TheNaniPT Here's the point I'm putting across. Lets say Urahara didn't show up (like I said, he's the only reason Ichgo lived). It's just Aizen and Ichigo. Ichgio is at the point where he lost his powers. The Hougyoku rejects Aizen. It's still just them two. Aizen is still immortal, and Ichigo is useless just sitting there. Aizen would have killed him. The ONLY reason Ichigo lived was because Urahara showed up. Therefore, Aizen>Ichigo. The end. :D

@JeffreyOKay okay so you guys are arguing about aizen powning ichigo or ichigo powning aizen WEL neither! ichigo wanst saved bye urahara at the last point but got siaved bye him because aizen already had been sealed however the hogyoku saved him from that and when the hogyoku rejected him the sealing took affect and terefor ichigo was saved but stil powned and aizen got pownt bye ichigo because ichigo made the hogyoku reject aizen! and thus they powned each other!!!

@coldoem It's a show. The writer didn't put it in there for no reason. Ichigo provided proof, that he felt his sword showed loneliness. Ichigo matched Aizen, and Aizen felt content, thus him releasing the hogyoku. When Ichigo made that statement, that was the writer giving us insight on the situation.

1) AIzen was born with insane strength as ichigo suggested in manga (chp 422). So why didn't anyone in gotei 13 know about it? because they were all under his hypnosis. He is the kind of genius that comes once in a million years.
2) Aizen uses his shikai (hypnosis) more often than you know. just look for a shattering glass during the fight, or aizen saying shikai. And sometimes its not even noted until the battle ends.

he has used his shikai in almost every engagement he has had so far. go and carefully check back.
with renji he said shikai just as renji attacked. everything renji saw from there on was all in his head. the next thing we see is aizen in front of renji.
he also used it with urahara (before he left SS). That was when Aizen stopped a kido 88 with another insane kido (without the incantation). but it was all an illusion. he probably doesn't even know how to use that kido at that time.

Adding his shikia powers of absolute hypnosis once seeing him release his sword it's impossible to beat him.....w/o holding his sword.(tousen's bankia takes away sight,hearing,smell once kenpachi touched his sword he gained back his sense) common sense can't believe i didn't figure that out before revealed.

Aizen has always been known to troll people, he's faked his death numberous times, fucked with people's heads beyond belief, etc. So it seems sketchy that he could be apprehended and brought to justice. @TheQrton In the end he surpassed yammoto.. he evolved way father than his normal shinigami self that wasn't much weaker than him.. when aizen got to the point of the butterfly stage with bankia he was probably on level with the head captain but then he evolved into another dimension .. that ichigo beat by one upping him.. like they said at the end manga aizen was immortal when he merge with the hougyuko like urahara said and central 46 did to... also he didn't even use bankia like wtf lol..
