  • i think gays should have the right to marry

i don't like the fact though that they r teaching gay marriage

  • gays already have all the same rights that marriage offers available to them through contracts and legal arrangements. This is not about gay rights. It's about guilt and pride. These people have chosen a way of life that differs from main stream society and now they want society to change so they are no longer different. If you don't want to life the standard lifestyle, don't. But try to change the standard at everyone else's expense just to feel that your way is normal.

    It's not.

  • too bad they were wreckless enough to hurry and impose gay doctrines into our next generation; and it became their undoing.

  • yes on 8.

  • I'm not religious but I frown on the fact that people are trying to socialize the faith and beliefs of millions of people. Marriage is a religious sacrament, take religion out of "marriage" and it's got no basis or reason to exist. Yes a lot of people are gay and there will be gays until the end of mankind, but you chose an alternate lifestyle, so stop being selfish. Two people of the same sex cannot have kids, and should have no right to dictate what should be shown to everyone else's children.

  • I can't believe that people still think that gays choose to be gay. Do you remember making a conscious decision to be straight? This is blatant ignorance.

  • I would love to see what this couple would say if one of their children turned out to be gay.

  • It comes down to forcing others to live by your approved standards, which is not right. I agree with rammeh. It shouldn't be forced down the throats of children at school, but at the same time, let grown adults make grown adult decisions. Quit trying to force your beliefs on others.

  • gnrlus8,

We feel the same way, that the beliefs of others are being forced on us. There are numerous examples where gay marriage has been enacted in the law, and the rights of religious people have been infringed upon as a result. It is a liberal goal to get rid of religion entirely. I'm sure not all liberals feel that way, it may only be an elite few. The fact remains that it is the end goal, and they feel no guilt for wanting rid of us.

  • Thank you for sharing your story! YES on Prop 8!

  • who are these scary homosexuals? truth is, homosexuals are just like straight people and to treat them like child molesters and perverts is where education in the home fails. What are you guys so afraid of? Have you never met a homosexual? They arn't "bad" people, and they only want to educate your children about homosexuality because they are sick of their kids being discriminated against by your kids. They have no intensions of converting your kids to homosexuals, I promise.

  • For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.(Ephesians 6:12)

Our fight is not against people, but against Satan who wants to destroy and distort marriage cause it destroys the very image of God. God made man and that was not good so he made a compatible partner, Eve. And if you don't get this I'm sorry, but feel free to reply! I love you!

  • Homosexuality - "This form of sexuality has singularly and exclusively developed from human thinking and fantasies, whereby Man is capable of even influencing the characteristics of genes to generate this uniqueness within himself. This peculiarity then is degeneration, an anti-naturalness and transgression against nature's law."

  • What this means is, that people who are gay are because their fathers would think about such things as gay sex etc.

Therefore influencing their genes and later have children of the same thoughts but even stronger resulting in greater interest in homosexuality.

  • If Massachusetts and later America will approve gay marriage there will be more and more homosexually created men.

Gay is absolutely wrong and such things should be prohibited like gay marriage and it is unimaginable wrong to teach children in kindergartner or higher that gay marriage is ok or moral. Reason because it is influencing the thinking process and creates image that such things as being gay is natural for men and therefore acceptable

  • This is totally wrong and in the end creates even more homosexuals.

It is absolutely wrong and behavior like that can result in great consequences.

    Gay is not moral.

    Gay is degenerating.

Gay is influenced by thought therefore it can be passed on to children, creating further degeneration.

Homosexual man should be left alone with their lives and their thinking, but gay marriage, and teaching gay as moral in schools is totally wrong and knowing the outcome it is simply crazy.

  • Thank you for sharing your story!!! This has very real implications and I will fight to protect my children. I will also share this story with friends and family and urge them to vote YES on Prop 8!

Bebe (born and raised in California)

  • I agree with the family's being upset at their treatment by the school administration. Parents have the right to censor or otherwise what their children are exposed to, a public school should not have the authority to handcuff a parent over a disagreement this petty.

However, I don't agree with Prop 8. Just as the school administration had no right to force that on the family, the family has no right to force their beliefs on others.

    The door swings both ways.

  • We as parents are the guardians of our children. Parents should have absolute control over how we decide to raise our children, and what they are taught. The parent child relationship is completely different than a vote on a law. Laws in a democracy are based on the morality of the majority. Someone will always feel put down by the majority. You name a law that exists, you can find people in prison who think that particular law is unfair.

  • 4. Ministers who preach against same-sex marriages may be sued for hate speech and will risk government fines. It already happened in Canada, a country that legalized gay marriage. A

recent California court held that municipal employees may not say, traditional marriage, or family values because, after the same-sex marriage case, it is hate speech.

  • 3. Religions that sponsor private schools with married student housing may be required to provide housing for same-sex couples, even if it is counter to church doctrine, or they will risk lawsuits over tax exemptions and related benefits.

  • 2. Religious adoption agencies will be challenged by government agencies to give up their long-held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and a father. Catholic Charities in Boston already closed its doors in Massachusetts because courts legalized same-sex marriage in

    their state.

  • More studies and scholars that confirm the importance of a Mother and Father in each home:

  • Freshnowski: you don't think gay marriage hurts others? Think again...rather do some homework then think again:

The NY Times reported a "powerful consensus" in social science research that "from a child's point of view...the most supportive household is one with two biological parents in a low - conflict marriage." (Hardin, "2- Parent Families Rise After Change in Welfare Laws" quoted in "What Next for the Marriage Movement? p4)

  • Since gay marriage is a religious matter, teaching it in schools is violating separation of church and state and therefore religious freedoms and therefore the constitution

  • That's where you're wrong. Gay marriage is not just a religious matter, but one of equal rights, which is a civil matter, as well. The fact that you are opposed religiously to it doesn't mean that you have the right to tell two grown adults that they can't make their own decisions. Guess what: people are gay, whether you like it or not.

  • Your right we don't have any right to tell you what to do in your own time and walking down the isle is up to you...however homosexuals do not have the right to teach in schools that homosexaulity it morally ok..because to christians it is a violation of god's law also the word marriage is biblicaland"YOU ave no right to try to say you can use the word MARRIAGE.MARRIAGE is a religious cermony making a covenant to god.You may have the word civil union .stay away from my bible!Youcanthave the bibl

  • The Bible may say that homosexuality is a sin, but in places it also advocates slavery, forbids wearing clothes of two kinds of thread and says that no one may contact a woman during her period. We have moved on from that, why is homosexuality different?

  • quit lying this is not a civil rights issue,,,racism is a civil rights issue.this is a moral issue yes on 8

  • One way proposition 8 is unconstitutional "The United States Supreme Court previously has held that Family and kinship - based interests, such as THE RIGHT TO DIRECT THE UPBRINGING OF ONE'S OWN CHILDREN, are constitutionally protected rights! The court has said the obligations of parenthood, marriage and biological kinship are fundamental to preserving a civilized order."

    -B. Hafen, Family Law expert

  • guess that means parents should be notified whenever a school teaches the world is a sphere and not flat...you know there are people that still believe the world is flat and that is their religious perogative...how DARE the schools teach them anything against these religious doctrines! /sarcasm.

Okay sorry but teaching children that people are people and we should respect them despite their differences is a GOOD thing. YOU can still teach your children to hate people if YOU like.

  • You are right, everyone should be treated with respect because how you treat others is a reflection on yourself. A murderer should be treated respectfully. It doesn't mean what they did was right. This isn't about hate and respect, it is about right and wrong.

  • hey If I was born with an anger problem, would that justify me running around hitting people?

    I think not

  • uhhh...are you an idiot? hitting people is INJURYING them. Two people who CONSENT to love each other and care for each other...nothing like that. God is this all you rightwing moonbats have?

  • Nope. Homosexuality is damaging to society.

Immoral behaviour is emotionally desensitizing. Excessive self gratification makes it difficult to have compassion for others.

Homosexual behaviour spreads diseases faster than heterosexual behavior.

Homosexuals are three times more likely to rape than heterosexuals.

If everyone did it, there would be no one left in short order.( A benefit if you are an eco-nut that thinks humans should all die. )

Even if God didn't exist it would still be wrong.

  • So what does this have to do with allowing gay couples to get married?

I mean, god forbid if the public schools teach acceptance, and this really has NOTHING to do with allowing gay people to get married. This is about school systems and what they teach. It's possible to allow gay marriage without keeping parents from controlling what their kids learn, you know!

  • This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. I don't understand how anyone could agree with this. It's bad for kids to respect people's differences? Jeez, I feel bad for the kids, they have insane parents.

  • Do you really think public schools are conspiring to undermine the traditional family by teaching children about Homosexuality? Children are not born with religious belief, political ideology, racial bigotry or homophobia. These are either learned directly from parents, or formed through experience and choice in adulthood. Don't we owe it to our children to give them all the information about how the world is, objectively, and then to let them form their own opinions?

  • Am I missing something here? How in the world does banning gay marriage "protect" heterosexual marriage? How does gay marriage "take away from someone else's rights"? Even if it is your belief that Homosexuality is a choice(a belief that goes against an avalanche of biological and psychological evidence to the contrary), how does that threaten heterosexual marriage even remotely?

  • If this father was arrested and has no rights as to what the public schools teach his own children or even a right to opt out of it, this will happen in California too..VOTE YES ON PROP 8 Californians! This is not an issue of discrimination. There is no evidence that people are born this way, and we should not have to teach our children that until it is proven.

  • You're not born with your religion are you? So then why can't I discriminate against religious people?

  • Brilliantly stated.

    :)

  • You CAN discriminate against religious people or anyone for that matter if they are hurting people, breaking the law or infringing on people's rights. Gay people have the right to marry whoever they want of the opposite sex, just like everyone else, or do civil unions, but re-defining marriage for everyone takes away rights of parents to raise their kids in whatever view point they want and puts it in the hands of government to teach both as acceptable and approved, when many people don't agree

  • That is bullshit, to be frank. That is not equal rights. You could use the same logic and say that everyone had the right to marry someone of the same race or same religion. That's still discrimination against interracial, interfaith, and gay couples, and you can't justify it by twisting the words around. Civil unions are just another example of seperate but equal, you don't OWN the word marriage.

  • Sorry to offend you. I did not bring religion into this. I don't own the word blue, but if I changed it to mean something else, how confusing! Words have meanings and usually don't change based on culture acceptance. Men marrying men is DIFFERENT from a man marrying a woman and it respectfully deserves it's own meaning/word. Different meaning does not mean un-equal rights. Blacks are not called whites & are still equal, rightfully so. Gays are still equal people.

  • Preventing gay marriage has nothing to do with what the school system does, furthermore, teaching your children to treat gay people like human beings doesn't mean you can't still teach your kids whatever you want.

The law specifically states that with gay marriage being legal, churches will NOT have to preform gay weddings. You are being lied to by anti-gay organizations, do your research and learn the facts. You're not "redefining marriage" for everyone else, nobody is forced to marry a man.

  • Here is how the religious rights of others -- whether they are Latter Day Saint, Catholic, Baptist, Muslim, Jewish, or any other faith are being restricted by allowing same-sex marriage to happen:

    1. Churches may be sued over their tax-exempt status if they refuse to allow same-sex marriage ceremonies in their religious buildings open to the public. Ask whether your pastor, priest, minister, bishop, or rabbi is ready to perform such marriages in your chapels and sanctuaries.

  • If you want marriage to be 100% religious, then you're going to have to remove government involvement from it, which means no legal benefits for any married couple. But for as long as you keep the government involved in marriage, then they don't have a right to discriminate against any consenting adults who want to get one.

  • This is the best way I've ever heard it put and you are completely 100% RIGHT!!

  • Homosexual couples can't have children ....well, except through adoption, etc

Pushing this on 5 year old children? ...the majority which are of Hetro households, can mean only one thing. The intentional war on the family by the powers that be.

  • Or it could just be society evolving out of a dogma and into diversity and acceptance, but everything has to be a conspiracy theory with you guys.

  • Homosexual couples can have children aside from adoption. What on earth are you talking about???

  • "...aside from adoption"

So kids who are adopted are unimportant?

  • I would fight with everything I have to protect my children from the demoralizing lie that same-sex marriages are even remotely normal.

    VOTE YES on Proposition 8!

  • And you'd probably be the reason that when they get older they stand outside of gay bars with baseball bats and guns.

  • I don't even have kids yet, and probably not for awhile. Yet the thought of them growing up in an environment where they are taught that really makes me sick. I agree with you whole-hearted!

  • It makes you sick if kids are taught that gay people are human beings? Man I hope you don't have kids.

  • At least I can have kids. What I'm saying is that if I have kids, It makes me sick to think that I have no say whatsoever in what is being instilled in them. Those parents from Mass. didn't have a choice. I refuse to let my future children be subjected to that, irregardless of what others think. You can say whatever you want to about me, I don't care. But when it comes to my future children or future grandchildren, they'll no right from wrong.

  • Who says you don't have a say? Because the school system decided to teach kids to respect others different from them instead of sheltering them? You can still teach them that being gay is wrong if you want, but what's so bad about treating gays like humans? And what, exactly, does gay marriage's legal status have to do with what the SCHOOL SYSTEMS decide to do? Prop 8 won't change it. You're being distracted and lied to.

  • NOBODY CAN HAVE RIGHTS THAT TAKE AWAY FROM SOMEONE ELSE'S RIGHTS!!! Thats the whole bottom line of the Bill of Rights. Anyone who thinks differently should carefully study the constitution. There is no allowance of rights for some but not for others. There is no favoritism, religionism, or nepotism. The founding fathers would have voted YES on Poposition 8!

  • Gay marriage isn't taking away anyone's rights, this video had nothing to do with the legal status of gay marriage but rather the actions of school systems. It's a distraction!

  • So you are also against interracial marriages, atheists getting married, couples who can't or won't have children, and divorces too, right? After all, let's really protect marriage. And hey, if you want marriage to be solely a religious sanctimony, let's not offer any benefits to married couples. Sounds fair, right?

  • 3 branches of gov. est. by our founding fathers with their wisdom to know in advance the oft madness of the majority. Vote no on 8. And note, Connecticut has joined Mass, and California in seeing the good and the light.
