@tedwin223 The proper way to display an American Ensign is with the field of stars closest to the jack staff. Imagine that the man, tank, or helicopter is traveling forward and the wind is blowing the flag backwards then you can see he has the correct flag on the correct side. You are correct though that a flag displayed on a wall would be shown with the field of stars on the left hand side. You will notice the same flag on the right side of Marine One, I have answered this question many times
