@abidingwings kinda... except if your compressor is attached to your exhaust, you are doing it wrong. The turbine is the exhaust side, and anti lag is extremely hard on the thrust washer and bearings in a turbo.

@matthewrockslol22 anti lag dose that at high rev as the fuel and air supply is richer reducing turbo lag and as the fule and air is rich not all of it get burned and some get carried to the exhausted where it then ignites make the crazzzy flames well that is my understanding might be wrong.

@ebkdegekste on an N/A (naturally aspirated) engine all you have to do to create backfire is dab the accellerator slightly when you change gear, this pumps a little bit of petrol into the engine but because the firefront moves slightly slower compared to when your at full revolutions the petrol will travel through the engine and into the exaust where it will ignite because of the heat, there are other ways of doing it too, it helps if you have a full race pipe or a decat.

@BASTILEON Antilag is to keep the car on boost off throttle. To the best of my knowledge it does this by adding fuel and air and a spark when the exhaust valve is open, the resulting bang exits straight out the exhaust keeping the turbo spinning.

Well, thats close. The ECU retards the ignition around 30 something degrees from TDC which allows the fuel to cycle straight though the cylinder. It then hits a hot manifold [before the turbo] and explodes. The explosion is instead of the pressure you'd have from exhaust gasses when your not accelerating, hence it keeps the turbo spooled up on overrun = no turbo lag. It's spooled up ready to boost.
