@albduke1 Belive it or not, the Germans actually sunk a lot of our shipping off our own coast with their U-boats for most of 1942 that it is considered to be more successful than Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, so no it isn't entirely propaganda. What is propaganda is that the US won't admit they made a blunder by not adopting the convoy system, as well as keeping their city lights on during the night which helped the Germans find the transport ships.
