Cynefin, a consulting firm in the UK, sells a software to collect and analyze narratives for emerging trends. As well, Bruce Bueno de Mesuita used game theory to develope a process of analyzing the narratives of leaders and their counsellors to predict geopolitical events.
I loved this and I don't know why. Maybe it's the idea of the collective subconscious.
It also feels related to the Occupy Wallstreet protests, and articles popping up asking if social movements, and thus the collective subconscious, are becoming more powerful than nations because of free global and instant services like facebook, twitter, google, etc.
