sure I think this is the perfect song made by GB....I've heard somewhere that this song was so touching and the band did not want to record for a cd...I can understand the reasons, it may be a bit sad for robin and co.
@Nakedprey rumor has it there was only a little bit room left on the album and they had to choose between this and 7th inning stretch. kidding. it was between this and "memphis time". kidding again. It really makes no sense. And they doomed their own album sales by not simply including "Til I Hear It From You" on the album. These are really brain-dead decisions.
@jmorris724 I remember reading it was the record company that ixnay'd "Til I Hear it From You" from the album because they didn't want to take away from the sales of the Empire Records soundtrack, which made no sense to me whatsoever.
Don't get all high and mighty people...You'd sell out your fellow man for a hell of a lot less than they did. The record company tells them to get rid of his drunk ass, and they did it...Been stupid not to. They didn't know he was going to wax himself. Obviously, it was upsetting to everyone, or they wouldn't be playing this song. Gin Blossoms rule!!! R.I.P. Doug Hopkins.
You have a point. People just act like they knew he was going to kill himself and just let him go anyway. I'm sure if Doug went to get help they would of let him back in. People just need to stop blindly following what they read.
Luckily he didn't need to apologize to you, he needed to apologize to his friend. His friend that he lost, his friend that he misses. I'm sure no one on the planet is sorrier for how things went with Doug. I just hope he found some peace.
A Sorry from Wilson will never be enough for me sir!!!!! I can not imagine being Hopkins and having YOUR OWN BAND ripped from under you because your worried about the label being pissed and thinking about dropping you. BFD could have taken it to another label. Good song though.
So in love with this song.

I've got the studio version up right now. I think I may be able to dodge the copyright stuff.
