Try to make the droplet more spherical. I can't see wether you are using a needle on that syringe or not? Try doing it without a needle, then you should get a more spherical droplet, hence a better picture;)
Yes, it works with a laser pointer. (I posted a video response showing our results) You sampled some great water sources that we didn't think offf- off to try! Great video!
I think a thinner "sample holder" could help you eliminate the visibility with "murkier samples". Basically, if your sample is spread out a bit more and flattened, you should see more through it.
Is there any way to know what magnification you are achieving with this DIY microscope?
