  • Nice work, around here it would only take about 3 hours for that paint job......and it would look like shit. hahaha wish I could see it in person

  • How many coats ?

  • @1339LARS four then sanded flat with 600 and 4 more then sanded and polished.

  • @edhubbs Thanks !!

  • so awesum, I love the mind blowing final look of the car so awesum I am so jealous

  • Amazing job! You make it look so easy. :D

  • DON'T TOUCH THIS CAR AT THE SHOWS. HE WILL GET YOUR ASS!!!!!!

  • @edhubbs Is it because of the quality?? Do u have suggestions on how to get this fixed? The shop is not motivated to complete my car. It's just been sitting at the shop for 4 weeks half sanded. I'm at his mercy because I have no money to pay another shop to do it. I posted a YouTube video if u want to see what's it looking like.

  • @williescott2 Even though I do not use Kustom Shop Paints any more there Hot Rod Flatz is a good product. And yes it can be a bitch to spray, especially a complete car. I try to spray it with the temp around seventy degrees and using a medium reducer. When applying it I try my hardest to not get it wet in spots. That is where the trouble starts.Doing three coats that are sprayed like a satin finish works best.

  • saw the car in reno this weekend, looks so much better in person, we were kinda disappointed when we yelled at you to rev it and you didn't lol

  • @SlipknotMetal777 Not my car,just painted it.

  • @edhubbs oh well good job man

  • I took my new SRT8 Challenger to a shop that uses Kustom Shop.com paint and it didn't come out like this at all. It was the Hot Rod flat black. It came out so uneven. The shop blames it all on the paint. Said they even called Kustom Shop.com and they told the shop it was standard to have it not so uniform. My car was taken back to the shop and now the shop is just sitting on it cause they aren't making money on it because of having to redo it. It's just partially sanded. I don't know who is t

  • @williescott2 I no longer use Kustom Shop paints.

  • WOW that is the sweet paint job i have ever seen very sweet work !!!

  • Dude this mother fucker is off the chain. I built a Trans-Am with true flame also a show winner can be seen on my fbook page (Weldon Lee Castleman Jr.) this one is over the top. I can't wait to show my son the airbrush artist. Maybe we could get one of our customers to try something like this. On second thought were building a 1 ton suburban with a Dodge Cummins in it and i think i just decided on the paint work we will do on it. (also pics of it on my page along with a ton of others) Thanx !

  • how much did this project run ya?

  • @iroc464 A lot.LOL

  • I couldn't imagine what a paint job like that would cost a guy to have done for him. Talented painter, just don't let it all go to hell. lol

  • @jchamness33 I did all of the body work and the fabrication in the bed besides the paint. 8 months total.

  • i could NOT imagine a meaner car

  • I'm curious, were you using any mid level clearcoat on this after the candy coats or is that something you only need to do if the work is going to be sitting around for a day or two??

  • @transamlover50259 I air brushed the flames on the car in one day and clear coated it. Then I sanded it and added all of the details.

  • @edhubbs Thanks man, glad to see someone putting the time into replying to basically every comment on all of their vids!

  • Nice work man. That blower sounds sick too.

  • very nice work by the way.

  • Hi Edd.

At 6:40 you said that you sanded it flat.Is it really necessary to sand it again after you put all the flames on it.Wouldnt it spoil all the flames then?

  • @punaniexpert77 What I did is apply 3 coats of clear and then sanded it with 600 and then finished up some of the art work and applied 3 more coats of clear and then sanded and buffed it.

  • such awesome work

  • @megaretriver $10,000.00

  • @edhubbs hahahaah i don't think i will ever have those flames on my car i would be paranoid that some one would scratch it

  • @edhubbs WOW!

  • Boy's I gotta tell ya', this is the most beautiful car art I've seen in a long time. Not like the cookie cutter tried ass graphic crap you see every where now. The only thing I can say would compare would be the work of the late, great Ralphie Garcia or Van Dutch, maybe Chuck Barris or Foose. Hey kids, watch the old people comments. Many who have the cash for this kind of project, and the talent to do it, are what you would call old. We started all this back in the day, The technique is 60's.

  • what year is this camino?

  • @66sucks 69

  • nice car, i am a body man, see my project, scotts el camino 028 mpg.

  • ΕΙΣΑΙ ΚΑΛΛΙΤΕΧΝΗΣ...

  • Holy S%#T!! I wonder how many old people have had a heart attack when that beast pulls up next to them on the street.

Man, that is hands down the sickest el camino I've seen. Have an 84 and couldn't dream of doin things like that.

    You've got some sick talent.

  • @deragon76 LOL Thanks

  • what do you add sometimes on your flames? a kind of clear ?

  • @smathboy18 HOK UC 35

  • Search up THE 1 AND ONLY HELL CAMINO

we have a el-camino mud truck

and also in the process of another mud truck 1988 elcamino

please feel free to comment thanks

and thats a bad ass paint job good work

  • @lilfreddie1234 Will do.

  • OMG ED!! You are one very very talented guy, that is some of the most mind blowing paint i have ever seen!I live in the UK and have a 1980 Camaro Z28,and if i win the lottery Im going to fly my car out to you!!!Thankyou for sharing your amazing artwork with those of us who would never get to see it here!IThanks!!

  • @BogusBoy2121 Your welcome and thank you.

  • Ed you really are WAY too modest man... thats some serious work dude... I gotta ask, how much did all that cost? I mean this had to have taken weeks to complete. I dont even want to think of the price tag lol but im curious. Also, what grit was used to sand the basecoat prior to air brushing, and why was it sanded?

  • @godofm3tal1 Thanks man,the paint only cost $10,000.00 But I also did all of the body work and all of the fabricating. It was clear coated and then sanded with 600 grit

  • I had a /74 Camino Loved it With the Hell I had it now was a 400 SS with Verdsteen 60" on vette rims Damn would that paint job ever have been Great on it!!!!

  • ive never had the vision for doing something like that.from the start up untill the very last coat of clear, i never wouldve thought something so badass would come from that.rock on man u guys did an exceptional job on that car.the dude kind messed it up for you with the yellow rollcage though, but still it was awesome.

  • @goinghomealive Thanks

  • that hell camino is f****** awesome

  • Thank you!

  • I've watched this a bunch of times and still blown away with the graphics if you can call them that.

The ending is classic with the burly biker dude with his fu-man-chu and shades.

Not for everyone, but at least this dude isn't trying to be something he's not.

The car suits him, not matter how over the top it might be for some.

Have you ever thought about making the front look like it's glowing cherry red?

I've always wondered if someone could pull that off. Glow, flames, and then smoke.

  • @edhubbs can u airbrush a panel or something to look like rust? or flaked cracked paint?

  • @cook1es101 Yes it is on my to do list.

  • Comment removed

  • um i belive that was a drag car was it not?

  • @ridehardbmx672 Nope,just a cruiser.

  • That is a gnarly paint job

  • How much is that paint job?

  • @cmurderize $10,000.00 for just the paint work not including any of the fabricating or body work.

  • AWESOME job you are blessed with a sharp eye and talent

  • hey guys is that a drag car??

  • much respect nice vid

  • @kinotherealest Thanks

  • nice masking! everything perfectly sealed up, no gaps, no loose ends, seams completely taped off, so nothing blows up when the gun hits it. no pockets in tape line, no tape touching body except to produce a straight line where needed, nice backmasking on headlights and dash area, great shield masking on front end, a car this sweet, has no room for overspray ANYWHERE even where it can't be seen. This is all so important to a quality professional paint job but so easily overlooked. 3M rules!

  • Absolutely awesome! You can't get any more bad ass than this! Thanks for the inspiration!

1.What are you spray'n with the big gun @5:13 - 5:20 in the middle of doing the flames ?

    2. What grit are you using on the basecoat @2:15 - 2:24before air-brushing ?

    3. Do you ever use pearl?Like I said, I would appreciate it if you could answer these ?'s, Ive been in the biz for a while and not once used an airbrush but am eager to learn your style of brushing flames.
