I totally agree with you. I am not a make-up insider, but I know what I like and I research what I want to try. This issue came up with a friend who said that you couldn't find good make-up/skincare at all price points (e.g. at the drugstore!). I think there are good products and duds at every price point (e.g. drugstore, Sephora, dept. store, brand specific shops). It depends on how it works for you!
I highly recommend the books by Paula Began (sp??) on beauty products.
I say the "I have sensetiv skin" - but I get sors from so many skincare things so Im a bit stuck on the one I know dosent do it and hope like hell they dont change ANYTHING in the formular
Now.. i am in the in the entertainment business and especially around this time of year I constantly have to remove FX/ stage top quality make up from Ben Nye... what would you recommend is a good remover to not cause any breakouts?
@PsychoJesterCandyman Ben Nye makes a makeup remover called "Cleanse All" it's an oil based makeup remover suited for heavy theater makeups. Prosthetics, latex etc. Although if that formula is too greasy or just not something people want to use.. try olive oil.. It removes makeup, cleanses the skin while conditioning it at the same time. It's gentle enough for all skin types and readily available. After the makeup has been removed a good anti-bacterial cleanser wouldn't hurt.
I'm such a loser, as I use whatever I happen to like while browsing the cosmetic section at the drugstore. For a few days, my face kept burning and I thought it was my medication change - the damn doctor had to tell me to stop wearing the foundation I was using because I was reacting to a fragrance in it (which I didn't even realize it HAD any in there.) Poof. No more face burning.
So. Yeah. I'm one of those uneducated people you wanna strangle.
And I had to pay $50 and waste three hours at the dermatologist because I wasn't bright enough to think about what I was doing just prior to feeling like my face was on fire.
this is so good. the internet is the fucking source of everything, seriously. people don't know about themselves and then proceed to not know about what they're putting on their face. WHATEVERS.
I'm rather fond of companies like Sugarpill, theBalm, and OCC, just because I find they're a lot easier to deal with in terms of figuring out what exactly is in their products. But I own a lot of over the counter things as well; I don't judge. I just try to figure out what works best for me. Honestly, I don't buy MAC because they're so darn expensive! I can find other similar products for much cheaper, and I do nooot understand "brand loyalty".
I like the brand Hard Candy. They don't test on animals :)
