GM really offered a hell of a lot of great choices for cars back in these times. Part of the reason I grew to be a Chevy guy is that you had such a variety to choose from in muscle cars...Camaro, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Corvette, Nova, etc, you couldn't go wrong with any of those choices.
@McCall72 Yep, My grand parents had a 72 Caprice and a 72 Nova......but I would say....the only wrong choice you could make was the Vega. that was an awful car. I worked for a dealer in 1978 and 1979. They had the Monza rebadged version of the Vega then
@OsbornTramain Sure. I almost used their character names instead, but I thought that might be a bit obscure, and I couldn't recall McGillis' Amish woman's surname. I also didn't know your age, but I figured you were at least 35 if you were digging up all these vintage auto spots. As a child, I always enjoyed checking out the print car ads in my aunt's copies of TIME and NEWSWEEK. And I loved the Fiat 128 TV commercials featuring Remy Julienne! By the way, I'm an expatriate Long Islander.
AHHHH the good ole days when new cars didn't require a mortgage. :D
