Curlin is very identical to secretariat, i find. Their both chesnuts, both built like a freight train, both have stockings on their back legs, I just think it's scary on how much they look a like. Curlin should have played Secretariat in the secretariat movie.

I think he has a great future as a stallion. He has a fantastic pedigree. Smart Strike leading sire, Deputy Minister Leading broodmare sire. And wonderful build to his body. He will produce some nice ones.

Curlin is one of my favorite horses, and he did get serious with that other horse. I have several pictures of him from either this workout or with him wearing the same thing. He is awesome and beautiful! Man is he fast!

From this workout, it doesn't look like he hated the surface, but he worked well over turf too. On real dirt, there's no way Curlin ever gets passed by Tiago... that alone is evidence that the track was his downfall.

It's almost ironic... in 2007, Street Sense didn't care for the track and finished 4th, even behind Awesome Gem... in 2008 Curlin didn't care for the track and finishes 4th, even behind Tiago.

I guess it's good that Europeans can now compete in the BC because of the surface.

I would place him in the top 100 among American horses. He never faced a top horse such as Spectacular Bid, Seattle SLew, Affirmed, or for that matter Cigar, Skip Away or Silver Charm. However, he beat what was thrown at him, and that is nothing to be disrespectful of. SOild horse

Wow, Curlin covered the surface very well. He usually works really slowly. To see him in an easy gallop finish 5 in 59 is really cool.

very very sad to hear about big brown. its hes an amazing horse. but i still do believe theres not a horse out there that can beat curlin. casino drive and tiago are probably the biggest threats. i would worry mostly about tiago, hes gonne sit back 15 lengths like last year, and come blasting down the stretch because santa anita is tiagos home track! go curlin go tiago!!

hes not unbeatable...i had a small bet on red rocks when he bet him!!! an he woz only an average horse but still bet d unbeatable curlin!! IF d track doesnt turn out like las year an is fairly dry duke of marmalade wil give him 1 hell of a race BELIEVE me!!!! at 8/1 hes far better value....

He's not unbeatable, but that was also on the turf, which is not Curlin's primary surface. There's a reason he's the heavy favorite in the race; European horses don't have a good record, and Casino Drive has only had three starts, never in a G1, and doesn't have any experience with the uproar that will be the Breeders' Cup.

He's remarkable. You can see that horse get into the bridle when he joins up w/ his workmate. Just an amazing race horse.

Look at Curlin's face. I don't know if I have ever seen another horse that looks that tenacious when running. What a horse! He knows exactly what his job is. He has a huge heart and wants to beat everyone else. That is what really makes him great.

There's my boy!! What an amazing work from him! I was pretty shocked when I saw the final time for the 5f, as he did not appear to be moving anywhere near that fast, SO effortless. He's ready to rock and roll, looks like we'll get our second two-time BCC winner since Tiznow!!

thanks so much for posting the video. I have followed Curlin since Oaklawn 2007. Today he looked as fit and happy as I have witnessed in his career. Likely back to back BC winner!

If I recall correctly Tiznow did not work out in between races as Curlin did. Also there is a lot of buzz around Curlin as he has traveled around the WORLD and won impressively. It's not like he is like Big Brown and only raced in this country and lost miserably when he was denied the lead in the Belmont!!

Lol, Carly it's not a big deal. He was already up in the press box (or whatever they call it in horse racing). He might as well let the people know what they are watching. I think they would have done the same with Tiznow had he worked in between races.

He is calling the work because this is probably the greatest horse we have seen since Spectacular Bid. No horse in the world can beat this horse on dirt unless something unforeseen happens. I thought it was funny that some people thought that Big Brown could beat him, but I have been doing this for a long time and I know what I am looking at. Tiznow was not as famous as Curlin is, although Tiznow was one heck of a horse. His 2001 BC win is my favorite of all of the BC wins.
