  • theres a none getto way of doing it. tighten the throttle cable lmao

  • Dude...I equipped my truck with a old air intake, gibson exhaust and i didnt feel anydifference in power....I wanted to do some research and i saw some posts on slack in the throttle cable....saw your video, did it, and my truck hasnt felt better, huge power increase, throttle response, and it actually opened the secondaries probably the first time in years...cleaned it out, stopped slight knocking, and running better than ever...thanks

  • same here no spring, but i do have rubber grommet, and some slack, took it out,now my ranger revs to about 5100rpms and i'm doin 90 in fourth when it shifts to 5th.thanks for the tip FNC!!

  • all ranger 93+ should have springs! if not then either it was removed due to sticking of throttle orrrr someone jammed the gas too hard and broke the spring and it fell off

  • my truck don't have that spring so i had about 2 inches i had to put zip ties on

  • @huffa12 if you have a ranger, then it should have a spring there, if not you should check to make sure. Its sounds like it supposed to have a spring or something

  • @FordNissanChevy i put the zip ties on myself about 3 weeks ago and there was no spring. i have a 96 ranger though so that might be why

  • @huffa12 doesn't have*

  • and have you had any problems with it since youve done it? or has it all been running perfect? because i think that my throttle cable might be stretched out as well, and i dont have the cash to buy a new one, but i do have ties.

  • @TheJoshy1992 no problems at all

  • man i did this today right after i got out of school i fight 2 wide zip ties around mine and man i wasnt expecting to feel that much of a difference! and i went one step further and lubed the gas pedal with wd-40 and now the pedal moved smoothly it did befor but it was slightly harder to push i didnt stick but man thanks for the video im soooooo happy!!

  • what year is the ranger?

  • @joeldude76 2005

  • @joeldude76 I figured and 04 but he said 05 lol

  • I will have to do this to my truck.

  • Since mine is a 91 with the the good old fashioned throttle cable I am sure I could do this, but I won't get to try it until I get it back on the road again.

  • wait... why is there a spring there in the first place? wouldn't you have sharper response without a spring??

  • @JakeDaSnakeFilms im guessing thats there so if it is fully open you dont break any linkage or the cable or something

  • @FordNissanChevy Its so the throttle dont stick opened!

  • ya don't want teh throttle to stick tho or else it'll go blap blap blap after you turn teh key offz

  • goddammit.. there's a carpet baffle piece in the way & I don't feel like taking all the plastic screws out right now.. maybe in few hours when there's daylight out :D

  • too bad i got teh shitty electric pedal

  • @naterade21 What car is that?

  • @chicago85bearz 09 malibu

  • Excited to try!

  • im gonna do this to my malibu! than go race some ricers :)

  • Does this work on teh toyota's?

  • @Nickgarage it might on older ones

  • @FordNissanChevy imagine if you did this to a new Toyota then added stickers. Were talking 23,547 BHP?

  • @Nickgarage teh accelerator would get stuck and it would hit speeds of over 9000 MPH

  • @FordNissanChevy What would happen if you did the Air box mod then ran Timmah fuel?

  • @Nickgarage blackhole made of shit

  • @FordNissanChevy CORRECTION...with the "NoThrottle Stuck" option this will not happen! unless you zip tie your throttle open!

  • @FordNissanChevy Assuming the frame held up once the car hit 60 MPH. Which is a lot to assume. Most would just snap in half.

  • @FordNissanChevy It's OVER 9000!!!!

  • @Nickgarage Yes, it does adjust the two screws by the throttle body which hold the throttle linkage in place.

  • nice i might try it someday
