This station will not reopen, as the line is being diverted over the former North London Line viaduct to Dalston that closed in the 1980's and used to terminate at Broad Street Station.

When this is open it will be interesting to compare the journey north of Whitechapel wuith this video.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane Sonnyboy! use d to live there and do the journey often. When is the line opening again?

According to the TfL website, the entire East London Line closes on 23/12/2007. It is due to reopen by Summer 2010 as part of the London Overground network. The old route into Shoreditch is replaced by a new line through Shoreditch High Street to Dalston Junction.
