  • Great Job ! I'm currently composing as well - You can chceck it on my channel - it's only short preview for now. Good Luck !

  • great vid! i am really searching for good toms and other samples.... can you help me with some samples/VST's?! thx! greetz

  • This is a stupid copy of Rob powers stuff

  • Great Work! Thanks for the video!

  • WOW! You can work for every film company, this is so damn good!!

  • awesome what piano vst do u use at around 1 36

  • do you only have the orchestra jam pack for garageband? and is that the only sounds you bought because i love the way the sounds play out and im thinking of buying some of the packs or just getting logic so i dont know which would be better

  • @sticknstones17 I have all of the Jam Packs including orchestra. I'm not as familiar with the Logic sounds, however you can also use the Jam Packs through Logic. The Jam Packs are an awesome library for the price. I don't use them much anymore though, as I have upgraded to East West Quantum Leap libraries.

  • This piece of music sounds good.. but the original score belongs to Rob Powers... I guess?! ...

  • Awesome. Pure awesome. This is exactly what I want to do. I noticed you went with a separate drum pad as opposed to the drum pad / keyboard combo controllers. I might go this route too.

  • i have a question

how yo do to program your pads an then just touch them to record?

  • I got an question i cant get answerd...

Is there any "Rules" on composing music, like movie music? i mean, do your sound need to folow any scales - like C minor, A minor/Majo scale etc. Oo please help ^^

  • WOW!!! this was awesome

  • Amazing.....really amazing

  • hey man...this is sound very similar rob power's stuff....

    original?

  • lol

  • YEAH!!!

  • wow this is awesome

  • Sounds like halo at the start :D

  • Good but, you can experiment more when you choice your sound. Try to found something new ! otherwise that is a great job !

  • get ESI's K.ON

  • @Luckyjanata

    Buy a better soundcard!!

    Reason sounds weak... pffff....

  • That was almost as educational as it was entertaining. As someone very new to film scoring, just watching how someone inputs their music can bring a dozen new ideas. I recommend watching as many videos like this as you can for newbies like me!

  • Very good!

  • this is great i am from Brazil in south america and i am a amateur film editor have always been interested in film scoring i got logic 9 and fantom G8 and a behringer controller... yes i really loved your peace right here... great job

  • Wow, your really good man, keep it up for sure.

  • more film scores man you are great

  • I Feel U Brotha! Awsome composition. The melody almost brought me to tears, just imagining the movie scene that could go with it.

  • amazing!!

  • The French Horn Crescendos sound so weak. The Edirol version are far better in that respect, but I think the staccato strings are the best by far in Symphony Orchestra.

  • ja, das ist echt gut!

  • really nice, but the drums sound a bit weak and cheap

  • I'm also a composer and I am either buying the 88es or the 88 pro- whats your take on the 88es?

Is the action really semi weighted or is that just what the makers say?

  • The 88es is an awesome controller for the money. It does have weighted keys that detects various velocities. Now, it doesn't feel like a real piano, but it is a great device to control midi with.

  • maza nahi aaya...dulcimer was good....

  • wow! fantastic work there. i look forward to hearing more from you. :)

  • nice! what software did you use for the percussion samples? and what was that sound when you first started playing on your pad?

  • Jam Pack for Garage Band. That was a hammer dulcimer sample.

  • EPIC! :O I wish I could make great scores like this! :O

  • hey I was wondering what settings you were using at :55 when you had the slow strings, and at 1:03 what is that instrument that you are playing with your kontrol and are you just using the tympani for the main drums or ? haha if this makes any since

  • :55 was a crescendo in the low brass.

    1:03 was actually like a techno-ish sample. 16th notes.

  • @markhaasmusic was the teachno sample included in the garageband packs, thanks by the way for responding :D

  • That one was from Jam Pack: Remix Tools.

  • reminds me of something off of MGS series, great job ;)

  • Hey Mark, which jam packs are you using? great composition, I've checked out Rob Powers and this stands up there with his stuff for sure.

  • Thanks! Most of it was Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra. The samples are AMAZING! I'm very happy with them.

  • yeah it sounds excellent. I have that jam pack too. was just wondering what sample it was when you go on the midi kontrol in the video during the first part. Sounds all sparkly and jingly. Sorry couldnt describe it any better.

  • Oh ok. I think that one came from Jam Pack: Remix Tools. I think it was called "Constilation" or something.

  • it starts at 0:39 if thats any help, really like the use of that sound and wanted to know what jam pack its from.

  • Ohhh... That's a hammer dulcimer. I think that came with Jam Pack: World Instruments.

  • nice one! have you got any other stuff i could listen to?

  • i want that drum thing,. mail it to me,.

    thanks in advance,

  • Bad Percussion and Drums, the rest is great.

Man, try the VST 'East west symphonic gold', is just awesome.

About acoustic durms, try EzDrummer, BFH or Addictive Drums. are the best VST.

    good luck and keep rockn

    cheers

  • yeah

  • rob powers style?

  • nice:)

  • Very Good

  • Not bad at all.

  • great man!!!

wich sounds are from the Jam Pack?

  • All of them

  • brilliant love the use of the distortion guitar :D

  • Do you have issues with hitting a single pad hard enough that it triggers an adjacent pad on the pad kontrol?

  • Haha. Yeah that happens sometimes. I can go into the midi file on screen and delete them manually though.

  • Hmm, I was considering purchasing the Padkontrol to compliment my Novation Remote SL 25. This was one of my concerns with the Padkontrol. Does it happen frequently enough to become annoying?

  • Dude, this is amazing!!!

  • amazing!

  • Pretty cool!!

Ps: Chris cendana sent me :P

  • hey do you have the score? and if you do can you send it please i would love to play this in my band class!

  • thats beast dude

  • wow, respect!!!

thats the art of beat making!!!

  • nice one :)

  • Impressive stuff, very Bourne Identity. I just bought an M-Audio 88es myself to try my hand at writing film-score style stuff, this just makes me more determined. Well done.

  • Cool stuff Mark, love love love it!!!!! :-)

  • Dude!!!! You're amazing!

  • wow do you have it up for download if you dont can you make it please

  • WOW! I'm blown away! And that is by far the best synthesized guitar sound I've hear come out of a midi controller period.

  • Awesome! I can't stop watching it!!

  • Excellent! I really enjoyed watching you put it all together. The PadKONTROL looks like alotta fun! Well done!

  • Wow, this is genius!

  • dude, you are sick

  • I absolutely love this! Amazing!! What a gift you have!

  • Cue the opening credits. Nice work mate.
