im born a muslim but after we moved to europe. i said i was an atheist and same time i became closed minded .but after my teenage years have passed and ive seen the the depth of darkness witch is endless.im 21 now and asta'3fero allah for everything bad i did or thought or said once i started reading the koran it really did open my mind and and it chainged me again to a complete whole other person . i didnt do it for my self. i did it cause allah la ilah ila ho wa7daho la sharia lah my creator

Salaams to the Speaker and hopefully this comment reaches you. You stated at the end of your lecture that without Islamic education we did not have a future in this country while you praised Zaytuna College and right before that you suggested that we do away with Islamic schools. Shouldn't we start them off young and at least show them whats moraly correct. The greatest mistake this community can make is leaving the islamic school! You'll understand when you have a 15 year old pregnant daughter.

Many parents are just control freaks, and worried about their reps at the mosque, afraid their sons&daughters will end up w/Meagan or Jerome as mates. So, sweep em into an environment where they wont meet ..? thats crazy! Cuz then they do it on the down low, if they dont have the spiritual principles in their hearts, you will never control their hormones.

I do like this Brother mashallah his lectures strike a cord in me every time but I have to disagree with some of his last statements. Yes we are American by land but we are not American by ideals. We as an Ummah must prioritize and stick to our identity. We cant do that in America where you loose you identity and you live in fear. And I believe that most youth should study the deen not some. Inshallah may Allah guide us all on the straight path. Ameen.

It's true about the jumu'a thing. I have a friend and he doesn't pray at all during the week, he's not a practicing Muslim. But when it comes to friday prayer, he's always there.

With all respect to Br Nouman I sense some political naivety when it comes to American politics, private sector, & media. The govnt are not detached from these institutions. So to think that America will allow the Muslims to be apart of their fabric without compromising our core values goes against all the ayat & ahadith where Allah tells us that they will never except us until we follow their way. I agree with Br Nouman on most points, but linking Iman with Islamic political thinking is vital.

Why is it simple enough for the Muslims politicians in the Muslim world to enforce kufur rules over the Muslim population but it’s impossible to enforce the Islamic system over a people who are a custom to those laws anyway? The issue of khilafah over the Muslims is a fard & so it’s planning, preparation, & working for it is also a fard. Just like any other fard in Islam. We have many scholars, politicians, thinkers, enginers,etc that are more than capable of running the affairs of the ummah!

Here's an action plan. I am sure that all you brothers and sisters know some qualifies people within the community. I ask that we distribute copies of this lecture among these intellectuals in our masjids. Often we find there are many qualified accountants, teachers, social workers etc, from our countries back home, let's put them to good use, let's distribute this lecture, and ask them to start formulating ideas, with the backing of youth for implementation.

the main point many of us missing is if we want to run big company or business then we need to attach with bank even we dont want to take interest, also with govt. which giving us the rule nd tax policy. so its almost impossible for us to run private sactors in islamic way until we establish the islamic state and also it is difficult to run islamic state without private sactors.

you can just imagine if a Muslim from Afghanistan or whereever hearing Br. Nouman say we are Americans. It would not be a good site. It would be hard site to say that. (I cringe at the thought of me identifying myself as an American). I just feel its not right

If a brother from Afghanistan can be muslim in religion and Afghan in culture isn't that what an american muslim is doing? I have deep respect for Brother Nouman, but I want to point out that there are Muslim academics (including Historians) who struggle to find jobs in the US (in fields of social sciences.) Universities do not seem to be enthusiastic about having a Muslim Professor in a field outside of a physical sciences.

@dameen78 The ulama have mentioned conditions for Muslims living in non-Muslim countries & one of those include that you must be involved in da'wah. Br Nouman throughout the course of this lecture is telling Muslims to learn Arabic, develop a strong, deep, perpetual connection w/ the Qur'an and the Seerah (sunnah) and then SHARE, EXPRESS & INSTITUTIONALIZE it in the West. In other words, correct the aqeedah of the Muslims first by returning to the Qur’an and the Sunnah and then call others to it

We talk about the problem & the solution to it without any practical tips. But here he’s showing us how to practically tackle this problem from the Qur'an and Sunnah. What corrected the affairs of the early generations of this Ummah? “the haqq of Allah and his Tawhid,” as you’ve rightly said. Now let me ask you: from where do we get the haqq of Allah and His Tawhid?

@dameen78 When he spoke of cults, he's referring to deviant sects of Islam. We know what he said, we heard it too. You seem to have heard different. Some things he said were worrying for me but only because they are things I try not to think about. Like making proper roots in the west, to a point where we can not be moved or questioned (so much). He thoughts are far bigger then anything I got going on in my head I admit that, but he sees more then I do within communities so he'll probably know.

@dameen78 He did say several times that the whole lecture will mostly be on his own thoughts on contemporary issues that we face, not so much an Islamic lecture. (read the title) He also said several times that the main problem is iman, he shouldn't have to expand every single time as to what iman entails. This seems as though it was for an adult/advanced class as he said 'i know you all pay taxes' etc. So things shouldn't have to be broken down so much to a kids level.

i am searching for more of his lectures, he really touched on important topics that sadly get ignored by most muslims.

does he have a talk touching on the intellectual part of iman, how to tie up quran with sciences or how to address scientific phenomena that seem to challenge quran "on the surface" as he puts it?
