Filipinos kept their ethnicity and culture more than their Latino brothers. Most Filipinos of today retain their Australo-Malayan features from modern modern Austroloid type whoch originated in the SEA Pacific rim region. Spanish features predominantly spread with intermarriages among fellow Filipinos with Spanish bloodline.

Philippines has been inhabited before 30,000 BC and Filipinos of today have evolved since that time. 500 years don't even make a ripple in the pond if you are even intelligent to know what I mean. It may be the other way around since there are strong evidences that Austronesians started in SEA (Borneo and Philippines) and spread through Taiwan and on to East Asia.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Filipinos made up of several Asian immigrants in the past like the Indonesian, Malaysia etc? And wasn't it colonize by the Spaniards and the Americans who had also passed on their genes to the pinoys as well? My point is, Filipinos are made up of several mix genes found from various countries in Asia and in the western hemisphere. I don't really agree that she's proud of being Filipina. She would always claim that she's spanish and chinese on her mom's side. I searched for her family photos and her mom looks like 200% pure Filipina, just like a pre-colonial Malay Filipino! Lucky her, she looks Hispanic that's why she could say that. And the children adopting a non-pinoy culture is a choice of how parents choose to displine their kids. Also,that u know our history but u don't know how many times that King brought us together to revolt against him and that's what made us proud of who we are. I'm 14 and I live in Canada.
