Uh, just a question about the science behind fat burning.
If I'm not mistaking, I recall that you gotta get your heart rate up into a certain range and then maintain it for a certain period of time (cardio) in order to burn fat and thus lose weight healthily.
But your micro workouts seem to contradict this theory, I'm just curious if you've got an explanation or something about this. Thanks a lot, and I do hope your theory works since I really want these to work, ha.
The whole 'get your heart rate into a particular zone' theory has been shown many times to not really be accurate when it comes to fat loss. It doesn't take into account calories that are burned after the workout is finished due to an elevated metabolism, so it's not that helpful.
As for micro workouts, they are just a piece of the puzzle. They have to be done in conjunction with regular workouts and clean eating to truly be effective. They just help keep you active all day.
@6yygirl Thanks for the comment! 1kg every day is a little ambitious, but the standard recommendation of 1-2 lbs a week is definitely reasonable and possible. Fix your eating and get started with some metabolic resistance training and interval training and you'll be on your way!

They definitely could help you lose weight. The idea behind them is that you're using short bursts of metabolism-raising exercise throughout the day to burn away fat.

what you are saying is true. im australian, think of a kangaroo. always moving and hopping only stops for short periods of time. u look at the meat and it is so lean so low in body fat with % compared to a pig which eats and sits there.
Great points! And the same principle is true if you think of human development through the ages - our ancestors were built to move in short spurts as we pursued, waited and then attacked our prey. That is the way our bodies were designed to move, and that's why that type of movement pattern is most effective at getting our bodies to their optimal level of bodyfat even today.
