2.)Dude I just started reading volume 1 of the Fantastic 4 yesterday. Got to issue 26. Silver age comics are an acquired taste, but once you get used to the whole feel, there's nothing better.

Marvel comics in the silver age are praised for bringing about depth in plot and characterization. The stories and dialogue are definitely better than this show.However, I'm just enjoying seeing the FF animated.

I'm comparing what I've read to what I'm watching, and so far Stan lee dwarfs whoever writes for this show.

The visuals, I admit, are better. I've always loved manga and anime styled works, and artists in the Silver age sucked. But the story, the interactions between characters like Johnny and Ben, and the characterization..all of that is better in the comic from what I've seen in this episode.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Japan but I just really hate alot of the themes prevalent in many anime shows. e.g., the 'moe' girls, the "I must avenge my father" in every flippin show, the way how most anime women are treated like sex objects...

All of them are lame. Reed's elastic ability doesnt benefit him well, Sue shoul'eve had the elastic abilities (due to the fact women are firmly more flexible then men), Weed shouleve at least had telekinesis and mind telepathy, Thing is well-off, Johnny's fire manipulation is to formal and basic. the only person of the F4 who came close to clobbering Hulk was the Thing himslef. And Johnny's voicing is wack.

1. Reed isn't such a tweeb.

2. Susan isn't actually THAT much passionate if I remember so

3. Johnny and Ben are okay.

4. Wasn't Reed's suit especialy designed to mimic his powers? Which means that the clothing he had on wasn't supposed to do what it did.

Pros:

1. Art is good. Needs to get a little better animation and the angles are sort of weird, but it's good enough to watch.

2. The CG animation was very impressive, really good.

3. Voice acting was really good.

IMO scored 6.5 out of 10.

@limbdarkening Well, the skintight suits make sense for most of the team; Ben can't fit into anything else without tearing it, Johnny is too hot-headed for most outfits, and Reed should be able to be flexible for whenever the situation calls for a little stretching. But cartoon characters SHOULD get more outfit options; the superoutfits get boring after the first two episodes.

did marvel have any hand in the making of this? it's like some talent less person came up with the storyboard, hired some japanese teenagers to draw it and then it was bought out and was dubbed poorly by some of the worst voice actors i've ever heard... the music really doesn't fit and the charaters are so shallow and 2 dimensional i just can't get to like them or relate to them.. it's like nails on a chalk board... i expected better from marvel. this is a poor attempt at being hip and young. =/
