~After beating Sephiroth, Cloud and Zack were used in one of Hojo's experiments. They were put in caposules filled with Mako. 4 years later, Zack woke up and helped Cloud get out as well. As Cloud's infantryman uniform was stained and reeked of mako, Zack had no choice but to get in changed to a SOLDIER uniform~

Clones.

Sephiroth has multiple clones. If you've watched Advent children... those 3 silver-haired freaks are clones as well. That's why Kudaj becomes Sephiroth. It's also why they call Cloud "brother" in the movie. Cloud also has Sephiroth's DNA and Jenova Cells.

It's the reason Sephiroth controled Cloud prior to Aerith's death and again when Cloud give him the 'meteor' materia.

Jenova induced Mind controling powers are wonderful aren't they?

Hey I know this is completely unrelated with this ending but in the "final fanstasy advent children: COMPLETE" movie, when sepheroth "suppossedly" stabbed cloud's shoulder into stone, he actually lifted cloud up like in the game and totally (nearly) killed cloud. But then cloud and zack had a moment to talk witch was preety nice. If anyone hasn't seen the complete version of FF7 advent children complete, GO SEE IT "NAO"!
