You don't even need to own one to be affected by them. Just drive everyday and you'll have some close calls, heck just go for a walk through town.

It's at a point where not owning one can hurt you when you apply for a job too. Let's not even talk about the social impacts of them.

@Michael55443 that depends on the culture more the cellphone as an invention, Look at Japan for example cell phones got popular pretty quick there, however it is consider rude to use them while on a train(which they use daily as public transport) or crowded place. I agree kids shouldn't have cellphones, but dont see problem with them having a bit of calm fun rather than running around the restaurant . Driving while talkng or texting? dui says hello, no smart person would do either.
