I also think this is the only video of Alan Williams with the rubettes I have seen on u tube, where he is singing live although the TV presenter invited to sing along kinda ruins it (not his fault though and not intentional)

It's because Alan didn't do that high voice in the original version , Paul Prewer did. But he left the band immediatley after this song.
