Damn, I remember getting this game when it first came out in 1998! It was so popular then! Damn near everyone in my 4th grade class were trading Pokemon cards! Gold and Silver versions were good too, but after that, way too many Pokemon and that was it for me. When I got to the Elite Four, I had a level 80 Venusaur and he kicked ass! His Body Slam move...well, let's just say not many lived to tell about it! Even Gary's lvl 65 Charizard Fire Blast move didn't even take half of Venusaur's HP!

I got pokemon red in 4th grade when it was just red and blue, and by the time the newer ones came out, I had gotten older and the pokemon fad had really died down from what it was in 1998-2000. Also, I think the fact that ash never beat the elite four in the first season and went to johto islands or whatever, upset me as a child and I stopped paying attention to it.
