Kadri needs to stop hot dogging it too much. His strength is also his weakness in that he tries to be a one man team too much. That might work in the OHL but he can't even do it consistently in the AHL, don't even try that stuff in the NHL or you'll get embarrassed. I hope the Leafs give him time because he can be an elite forward someday.

Kadri and Datsyuk both have unreal skill, almost equal. But, Datsyuk's consistancy and performance is the difference and that comes with maturity. Kadri gets distracted and starts playing with LEGO on the bench . . .

I had my doubts when we drafted em, but that phase has long passed don't think i coulda expected much better progress from his this year.

Yes, I've seen Kadri play live at least a dozen times.. One look at D'Amigo though and you can see he has a lot more potential as an NHL player than Kadri.. Kadri play PP and on the top line as a 19 year old this year and he was average at best and poor defensively...on the winning goal.. look where Kadri is...
Buddy, that goal was 150% Pietrangelo's fault. He took the shot which was fine but the pinch was so unnecessary. Kadri had to go around the net and still got back to turn the 3 on 1 into a 1 on 1. Martin Jones shouldn't have been cheating towards the pass. Taylor Hall as the third man back has to be calling to the defenseman to step up when he sees that him and Kadri are there. That was in no way by any stretch of the imagination Nazem's fault.
You're right that it was more Pieterangelos fault but my point is the same.. Kadri is not a good 7th overall pick and we'll get to see that over the next years..He's like Kyle Wellwood but not as smart with the puck...I by the way think Wellwood was another poor pick...

I still have my doubts about this kid haven't seem him play enough, he's small, 180lbs, and granted it's a nice goal, this goalie at the time had 3 NHL games under his belt and currently sits at a whopping 4.

This kid dominated, and i mean dominated the OHL playoffs, regular season had a shit first month but after that was easily the leagues hottest offensive player, finished 3rd in scoring behind only seguin and hall, guys who are going #1 and #2 overall this summer. I had my doubts when we drafted em, but that phase has long passed don't think i coulda expected much better progress from his this year.

@petard84 He's not small. He's 6'0. He's average. Very few kids are filled out by the time there 19. He should end up being about 190 and he'll be an average sized player

Nazem Kadri has the potential to be a top 6 forward ; so as Bozak, Stalberg, and Hanson, the Leafs got three young, good free agents that teams all over the league were trying to get. Not to mention Gustavsson ; and their 7th overall pick Kadri. And i know this is the pre-season, but Kadri got called up on a emergency-basis, so lets see what happens. :)

He won't be a top 100 forward...this is another wasted pick by the Leafs.. I'd rather have their 6th round pick D'Amigo than Kadri.. It's a nice story and all but this guy isn't good enough to make much of an impact.

Yes, I've seen Kadri play live at least a dozen times.. One look at D'Amigo though and you can see he has a lot more potential as an NHL player than Kadri.. Kadri play PP and on the top line as a 19 year old this year and he was average at best and poor defensively...on the winning goal.. look where Kadri is...

Buddy, that goal was 150% Pietrangelo's fault. He took the shot which was fine but the pinch was so unnecessary. Kadri had to go around the net and still got back to turn the 3 on 1 into a 1 on 1. Martin Jones shouldn't have been cheating towards the pass. Taylor Hall as the third man back has to be calling to the defenseman to step up when he sees that him and Kadri are there. That was in no way by any stretch of the imagination Nazem's fault.

You're right that it was more Pieterangelos fault but my point is the same.. Kadri is not a good 7th overall pick and we'll get to see that over the next years..He's like Kyle Wellwood but not as smart with the puck...I by the way think Wellwood was another poor pick...

@RickWalters1 ....... They sent him to the junoirs to develp his skills and all that. He will play next year or the year after that. He has played one game for the leafs like one week ago against the sharks, because of an emergency call up:) hope i helped ya ;)

If he had more potential then he wouldn't have been drafted 5 rounds later. Kadri is clearly the better player with more potential and barring a miracle he will also be better in the NHL. Sure, D'amigo can shoot, but so can Kadri. D'amigo is also smaller, slower and doesn't have hands nearly as good as Kadri's.
How the hell was that goal Kadri's fault? He's a forward and he was further from his own zone than Pietrangelo (you know, the defenseman who should be playing defense) was.

Kadri the slick passing skills at high speed
Kessel the smooth, fast skating U.S. born sniper, its amazing what he can do without anyon ethat can pass on the Leafs, what till Kadri is setting him up.
Stahlberg, 6'3 fast skating beast on wheels with a slick wrister, reminds me abit of Jeff Carter.
and no Boston is not getting Hall or Seguin, they are getting Gudbranson or Gormley thats aboit
