  • That little girl that admitted to believing in her religion...Natural selection has it''s eye on her.

  • Happy brithday darwin :)

  • Excellent!

  • 03:57 Beautiful girl!!!

  • All because Darwin was an idler at first

  • Holy shit I wish that Richard Dawkins came to my science class

  • @00Elf1 Go to the Reason Rally 2012.. you can hear him speak and perhaps talk with him.

  • Who's stupid?

  • God Is Dead Now !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The existence of a God or Gods is in no way predicated on the fact of evolution. Many people believe in God and still accept observable facts like evolution for the same reason that we know lightning isn't made by God but still believe in him for other reasons. I don't hold this view personally, I'm an atheist, but it's not scientifically unacceptable to have faith in God. It IS unacceptable, however, if your faith in God causes you to reject already-established facts about the real world.

  • @icarus313 God and science are completely different thing. God is totally unacceptable. God is dead now!! But people fear to accept this.

  • @premranjan85

I'm not sure I understand you. I agree with the first statement, about God an science being incompatible. But "God is totally unacceptable"? No. I don't think it's unacceptable. It's a supernatural belief, therefore it requires faith. So, perhaps, in a scientific context God is unacceptable. But as a matter of belief, I don't think it's completely unacceptable. And "God is dead now!" makes no sense at all. I thought he didn't exist in the first place?

  • @31:06 zoologists plz tell me what's the name of that creature. What an amazing camouflage it was.

  • richard dawkins is an idiot. and so are christians and all other faiths. you all reject the flying spaghetti monster because you know in your hearts that you've done enough messed up sh*t to not get the stripper factory and beer volcano. accept the FSM, and he will never let you down.

Now to all you christians, does this sound intelligent? of course it doesnt! so why are you preaching such similar things? in fact, the only difference is changing the god FSM to that of yahweh. think think think.

  • Well there are some religion's who don't speak about Adam or eve or the idea that god directly created any living creature .... like i m a Sikh, and in Sikhism we have a believe that god is a vibration of energy called ( annahad naad ) which mean's everlasting string of energy

  • Wow. Forget the fact that they were all religious, did he go to a class made up entirely of stoners?

    "...It's like a dream....but it's not."

"You can be made to believe something in science and you can be made to believe something in religious studies, but, and then, it's really up to you what you believe."

And I thought students here in America were "a little behind."

  • what the fuck, all those kids supported religion?

  • I think Dawkins' attacks on religion, although mild in this episode and harmless, are not very productive when it comes to getting people to accept evolution. If he would omit religion from his discussion of evolution, religious people would probably be more likely to accept what he says in the show. Whether religion and evolution are compatible, or whether people should be religious or not, is not something that is relevant to the science of evolution.

  • @Dawnofthehead I think the point is that religion impedes the proper teaching and understanding of evolution. The fact that religion and evolutionary biology are incompatible may be irrevelant to the actual science, but it is central to the fact that parents are actively protesting the teaching of facts because they are incompatible with their superstitious beliefs. It's more than just an "attack on religion," he's speaking out for critical thought and reason.

  • I am sort of a fan of Dawkins, but his approach is deeply flawed: grab a bunch of militant individuals, tell them to believe in science and that that is the reason for which they have to stop believing their ridiculous beliefs. That is not necessary. All he should be doing is teaching science, no telling people to stop believing anything. They can believe in fairies if they want to, but it is important to understand science regardless.

  • @EconosPhylos You are fucking stupid . Religious school children don't equal militant individuals, whether in Iraq or England. He doesn't tell them they should believe in anything. He debates and promotes the scientific processes behind evolution.

It's sad really, that you make such an extremist opinion in the first half of your comment , because the second half I do agree with.

  • Take that Yahweh, God of War.

  • we believe in GOD but were not stupid as what youre trying to imply by the way you talk about religion please respect our belief. We understand evolution but if we also believe in GOD then dont argue... its how the world works... Religion also plays an important role... like establishing PEACE respect etc... what happened to you after you lost your religion? no more respect? :p

  • @harrygats

Yes, and religion also leads sane people to blow themselves up because god wants them to.

  • There is only one thing that i need to put my finger on, and it's the tree of evolution. By using a tree, we are saying that some species are at the "top".

To truly understand the evolution's theory, we need to use a shrub image. Every specie who still exist is at the same level of evolution from the others, because they are adapted to survive in their environment, in their own way.

  • I love his example of geological time on the piano!

  • Why was there porno music at around 13:32..... :|

  • Why does he need to pit evolution and religion so much against each other. No doubt they are connected, but somebody who bases most of their real-life views on evidence and the book of nature while still believing in God is light-years away from the bible thumpers.

  • These teens make me embarrassed that I'm a teen myself. I feel that i need to apologize for my age group

  • unwillingness to face reality in front of powerful evidences is a good proof of what religious indoctrination is capable of

  • Man this children are really brain washed. I am not joking but if i would have said in my science class that i did not believe in evolution and believe in what religion says my classmate would have made fun of me and treated me as some retarded Aborigine or something. Seriously. Of course god is a different matter and many of my classmates believed in god but not believing in evolution was treated as really stupid.

  • I am from India and I always thought that evolution was the default belief of origin of life. I did not know that so much people still believe in creationism. My science teachers used to teach evolution as the only answer to origin of life they did not even present creationism as a option. My parents are religious people but they too have accepted evolution. Man i feel lucky to have not born in a region were so much people believe in creationism.

  • Dawkins, slip of the tongue at 14.30, birds didnt change into mammals. It may have just been the way it was cut that made it sound like that is what he was saying.

  • @sporeadict227 I feel sorry for you clinging to myth that has been long dispelled by reality.

  • @TheScienceFoundation this not at all what i wished to convey to you but as i can see from your username there is little i will be able to say to convince you otherwise, so i will instead pray for you and hope that you to will be able to walk the narrow path.

  • @sporeadict227 Funny. Reading the Bible is what led me to lose my faith in the first place.

  • @Gruekiller113 sadly you have misinterpreted a great message and i will pray for you to

  • @sporeadict227 The Bible was written by man. Case closed.

  • @aloyarcboy god talks they write

  • @sporeadict227 If "God talks and they write," why couldn't God just write it Himself? We already know based on scientific evidence that these biblical miracles are false and remain false. We also know of the many contradictions that Bible itself contains. Why would God have mistakes in His guiding book if he is indeed, "perfect"?

  • @sporeadict227 you see, the problem i have with god is that you guys claim that hes a marciful god. Yet, when the pharaoh didn't let the so presumed "Jewish slaves" go, God sent the 7 plagues to Egypt, instead of killing the pharaoh himself, causing tons and tons of deaths from innocent Egyptians. ALSO, do you actually think that the Ark story was true? Are you high when you read the bible, or are you just completely shutting off common sense?

  • @AlbinoAJ I am a Christian. I have been gifted to comprehended the wonders of science as i am in a class above my grade level. I know that time and space are woven together, that the universe originated from a massive outward expansion of particles and energy, that man and all other life has evolved from single cellular organism, and that the many other realities exist within an infinite range of possibilities. All of these wonders only point closer to the FACT that my God loves US. He k my name

  • @sporeadict227 I don't understand how you can believe evolution took place, but humans were formed from a man's rib bone. I don't see a slight correlation of god and science. Imagine you're thousands of years old. How do you explain the unexplainable? Create a deity that has created it who made us with a shitload of sin, but if we dont repent what he created, then he will send us to an eternal hell. Doesn't seem like a "loving" god, does it? EXPLAIN TO ME WHY ARE CHILDREN DYING IN FUCKING AFRICA

  • @sporeadict227 btw, big bang would have taken more than 6 fucking days.

  • @sporeadict227

Do you then believe that day and night were created before the sun and the earth before the stars, because that is what the bible says happened, with absolutely no indication it is not meant to be taken literally. You cannot take the bible and science to both be true, there there more than a dozen contradictions between them before the 3rd page (and that assumes a large font)

  • @sporeadict227 I have read it, the Bible tells us to kill witches, gay people and those who work on the sabbath and the God character is a tyranical bullly.

  • @sporeadict227 You are obviously incapable of rational thought and may want to consider entering into some type of psychiatric hospital or joining a "copping with reality" self help group.

  • @sporeadict227 Go fuck yourself, god bless.

  • @sporeadict227 I am willing to bet my life savings that you have never read the bible

  • @sporeadict227 I am willing to bet my life savings that you have never read any long book

  • @sporeadict227 I find it sad that the human mind is capable of such delusional depths that even when it sees the facts infront of it, it is capable of twisting those facts to incorporate them into the previous thought pattern that the evidence contradicts.

Religion has been nothing but a scourge on our species.

  • How I wish I were in that class.

  • is it just a coincidence that Richard Dawkins' last name is only one letter different from Darwin? XD

  • @steaminggreentea Nope, it's all natural selection my friend.

  • @steaminggreentea Yes. LOL

  • damn those kids are so lucky to meet the man!

  • @thatcommonsenseguy i have seen the media got you.

  • argh i wish i had teachers like him =( i love science^^

  • Dawkins is probably Darwins biggest fan

  • I wish Professor Dawkins would take my class on a field trip...

  • OMG...what wouldn't i give to have Dawkins, Degrasse, Sagan, and Kaku as teachers!! AMAZING! I could learn more from them in one day then i could from regular teachers in a year!

  • Host Richard Dawkins is illuminati

  • @adamkentrepp Shut it clown.

  • @adamkentrepp

Better take those pills on the night cabin, wouldn't want to end up in a straitjacket in a padded room again, now would you?

  • They are good kids though:). Takes some of us longer to see the truth. Thanks for posting

  • this would have taken a long time to upload

  • while I don't believe in god in the typical religous sense, how in the world did anything get it's start without some kind of higher power? Yea yea, the next question would be who created that higher power. It's an endless argument like the chicken and the egg nonsense. But seriously, do any creationists honestly believe an anonymous higher power has such highly religious demands? Or can you honestly say religion is nothing more than then the rich man's creation to manipulate the masses.

  • Simply perfect!

  • seeing all those teens unwilling to "question authority" was very disheartening...

  • @nightmathzombieethan

Yeah my generation's kind of pathetic that way. It's really embarrassing.

  • Didn't really care for the musical scores.

  • the resistance to hiv begins with questioning whether or not the hiv test is actually identifying a deadly virus - the test has a legal disclaimer on it - its 2, 3 or 4 proteins for a positive result depending on which country one is testing in - and its based on fraudulent research that has never been independently verified or validated by scientists outside of the states - the definition of AIDS has changed many times and defies reality time and time again - big pharma has made a lot of money.

  • @hivquestions Richard Dawkins has quite a collection of cranks and kooks remarking on his videos doesn't he?

  • hopefully in the next 25 years 1 in 10 will only believe the creation myth, then we will see real human progress.

  • Darwin is one of the most important thinkers ever. Hail Darwin.
