@gojira12345678910 The Quake 2 uses the CD audio tracks as background music. Unfortunately they didn't worked on a conversion for the Steam version, so that's why there is no music, sadly. These songs are some of the best things in the game.

This music really makes me to speed-run through the levels, tearing every enemy down with my Super Shotgun. I just wish I could travel back to those days when there were no MW2, campers or automatic regeneration systems. Just Run and Gun-like games.

Hopefully the future of gaming is not only based on good graphics, but good gameplay and kickass music like Quake 1&2 have.

@PortalCube Sorry for replying to such an old comment of yours, but i doubt the future of gaming will be bright, and the reason is that many years ago they did "kickass" game-play with music to compensate to the ugly graphics. Now`a`day they just do "shitass" game-play with music and realistic graphic, because in the end who cares about the first two when you got 10 mil polygon eye candy.

Wow.. Quake 2 had the best soundtrack in my opinion. Back when I was a little bratling and got my first PC ever, this was my first game I ever played, I would always run home from the bus stop and turn on my PC just to see if i could get past the level i was having trouble with at that point...  Little did I know it know it'd turn me into the hardcore Gamer I am today.

No matter how old this game is it will live on forever. Immortal.
