The problem is that we are not given enough options to have the option to be more energy efficient, environmentally cleaner, and reduce our dependence on petroleum (or other fossil fuel for that matter). I don't understand the point of concept car shows that never make it to the mainstream market. It just pisses me off! That's why I wrote "Death of a Gas Guzzler"
What about planes? They make loads of pollution! Most people go abroad on holiday on a plane. In my experiance middle class eco twats are some of the worse for it. I've never been in a plane in my life, dose that meen I can spit in the coffee of anyone who flys abroad?
@110girl1 , not starting an argument here but aircraft engines are actually very efficient and very clean burning and not as polluting as you might think.
I get what your saying. I supose my point is that we all have have to live our lives, and that meens making carbon. I drive an old 4x4, but then I live in the middle of nowhere and nothings gona make me give it up, especially as we get snowed in every winter. For someone else it might be holidays abroad, or buying eveything new. Its this "holyer than thou" attitude I don't like because we're all as bad as each other.
Same here, i have a 1995 Land Rover Defender 110 and i can honestly say for a fact that it runs cleaner than some of the cars out there and we all have our bad habbits like leaving your engine idling etc, but us with turbo diesels cant help it because we need to wait for the turbo to spool down so that we dont damage out engine.
My 110 a bit older 1985, but I service it regularly and drive it sensibly so get pritty good fuel economy. I often get called upon to help people out because of the vechicle I own. Just this week I towed a mates van to the garage, saving him alot of trouble and expence. It's a good thing some of us run these types of vechicle, but it's also a good thing most people don't.
@110girl1, the thing is, all these "eco friendly" people moan about us 4x4 owners butwhen the bad weather like this winter then you dont hear them refusing a tow up the hill when they get stuck.
Interesting!!... so I guess 4.7 litre Chelsea Tractors are more efficient than my 698cc Smart after all?? and my 400 miles on one tank of petrol is purely down to delirium induced by paying only £35 for 12 months road tax.
