The Golf R doesn't have a TSI engine. It has the older Audi TFSI engine. It isn't direct injected, but does have a larger turbo and Audi Valvelift technology (two cam profiles) whereas the newer TSI engine is direct injected, has a smaller turbo, and only has variable valve timing on the intake valves.

The Mk6 Golf has many different engines. You can have a regular petrol naturally aspirated engine. You can have a 1.4 TSI twin-charger engine. You can have a 2.0 TDI if you buy a diesel. You can have a 2.0 TSI engine if you get a GTI. You can have a 2.0 TFSI if you buy the Golf R. All of these engines are completely different.
