  • Is your midi keyboard connected via midi to the maschine or to your pc\sound interface???

    thanks a lot.

  • check my video of running BATTERY 3 in MAschine

  • hey matt, i was wondering how did you hook up the synth controller in order to work with the maschine at the same time?

  • @secondcityu any controller will work, transposed to the sound, as long as it is selected in the MIDI preferences

  • Quik question: How do I set up Maschine to use my Pro Tools Instruments as Plugins in The Maschine Modules?

    Thanx

  • @DeeJayPickUp you can't. Those PT plugins are only available inside of PT. Same goes with the Logic plugins.

  • @mcsg27 Not sure if people have said this earlier, but you can actually use Logic plugins outside of Logic. They show up in ableton, but they have no GUI connected to them, just a mess of sliders in the default Ableton style. Not sure it works that way in maschine, though, cause I see none of them on the browser. Would be semi useless anyways I suppose. Just really miss having the Logic badass reverb at my disposal.

  • Thanks for the tutorial. It opens up a whole new dimension in maschine for me.

  • Matt,

I have one question and hope you can help me. In your video at 03:41 min after switching to step sequencer mode you slide/glide with your finger from pad 13 over 9, over 5 to pad 1 in order to place a kick there. However I tried to do it as well but it does not work for me. It seems that my maschine does not understand this move and I need to press each pad one by one.

Many thanks for your hint in advance.

  • @netlivedj sorry for the double post!

  • @netlivedj hard to say why yours doesn't work. The pads are very sensitive and you just have to make sure to hit each pad as you drag across

  • Matt,

I have one question and hope you can help me. In your video at 03:42 min after switching to step sequencer mode you slide/glide with your finger from pad 13 over 9, over 5 to pad 1 in order to place a kick there. However I tried to do it as well but it does not work for me. It seems that my maschine does not understand this move and I need to press each pad one by one.

Many thanks for your hint in advance.

  • Dude Im gonna watch all your Maschine tutorials. Thanks!

  • so how do you edit a bank

  • when i tried to install native instrument vsti its says "the file C:\window/system32/Msvcrt .dll could not be opened.....pliz help

  • Hey Matt thanks for the tutorial, but he's where the problem lies. I dowloaded the Komplete Bundle and I have FL Studio and I want to use thyem as a VST,,,now the Reaktor, Guitar RIg and Etc. doesn't appear like yours even though I went to Preferences and clicked Plugins and add and rescan, but they won't show up in Maschine only some of the Plugins for FL Studio, and Idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • holy moly your setup is awesome.

  • damn this is swag.

    i love you

  • @mcsg27 I agree, all VST's pattern recorded can play with others patterns of other VST of other groups, but I don't know of it is possible to play 2 VST simultaneously (so no patterns are not yet recorded), each VST on one MIDI synth?

  • @flolachevre Ah..I see what you are asking. The answer is yes, by using Pad Link. However it is a bit tricky because you physically have to use the pads and not your keyboard to do this. I might actually post a quick video to explain this because it is a little tricky

  • @mcsg27 Ok, soI think that I will use my set ableton/maschine for a moment..

    Tanks a lot Matt

  • @mcsg27 Could you explain how to..?

  • @flolachevre you can load up as many vst instruments as your computer can handle. i could have 4 vsts on Group A playing four different parts, all while having other vsts (drums, leads, fx...) on Groups B,C,D etc playing their parts. You aren't limited by anything

  • Hi Matt,

Tanks for yours tutorials: they help me so much.

I think that you can answer to my question: is it possible to play 2 sounds simultaneously (for example: 1 drumkit on group A played by one MIDI synth, 1 bass on group B played by an other MIDI synth)?

  • @flolachevre yes of course

  • The dr dre lead, how you made it?

    great vid!

  • @LennyGShit start with a sine wave and set the glide appropriately. Make sure to use the filter to get the sound right as well and it helps to add a little delay.

  • @mcsg27 Thanks im going to try cause im new with massive , great vid!

  • Do you happen to know how to revert back to Maschine 1.5 after the 1.6 beta version expires? Once the beta version expires, will I lose all of my projects and user paths, and have to reinstall the 1.5 software? Or is there some way to automatically revert back to 1.5?

  • @onlyseanmeier the final version will be out before you beta version expires. no need to worry

  • pressing 0 in renoise , brings up the vst gui :)

  • is 1.6 out/...beta was crashing mys esteem./.. who machine crashes also?

  • CAN YOU BE ABEL TO DUMP FL STUDIO 9 SOUNDS IN MASCHINE 1.6

  • @arcadeMUZIK1 No. Unless the sounds are rendered to audio and then loaded into Maschine to sample.

  • @arcadeMUZIK1....DONT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY...I JUST GET SO MANY DIFFERENT ANSWERS AND I WANNA KNOW 4 SURE B4 I GET FLSTUDIO 9....SO MY QUESTION IS DID YOU EVER TRY DOING THIS B4....THANKS

  • Great video! I'm having trouble connecting my M3 to my Maschine 1.6. How did u route everything 2 get it to work? Thanks

  • @smokey5100 just route your keyboard to your audio interface with a midi cable in order to use it as a controller

  • @mcsg27 I couldn't get it 2 connect in standalone but everything works fine in Protools 9 now. Thanks

  • Another excellent video showing just how far MASCHINE has come since it was first released back in early 2009. Can't wait to see what version 2.0 of MASCHINE will give us...

    great work bro!

  • thanks for the tutorial... but more importantly - how is that new NI keyboard? What controllers does it have? What kind of software is shipped with it?

  • @sonidiom Sadly, NI don't make controller keyboards (it's just a sticker), but I sure wish they would!

  • another great vid

  • My question may be off topic, but when I open Reaktor in Maschine it does not look the same as in your video. Mine opens up to a tan screen with no instrument selections. I'm new to Reaktor, so I may be doing something wrong. Do I need to set something up in Reaktor's preferences?

  • @SteveDronez You need to update Reaktor to version 5.5 - you may be on version 5. The new update put everything in one window (similar to Maschine's GUI) which is MUCH easier to work with than previous versions

  • wow you like ur ni gear.

  • this is awesome thanks for the vid. Do you know if you can use the tracktor 12 fx on the master to give a mix a club feel? and do you have to buy the guitar rig to use it in maschine?

  • @thesoulkontrol you sure can. traktors 12 or the finger. you dont use them on the master but simply put them on a sound and route your source to that sound/fx.

you can use the guitar rig demo to get an idea of the plugin if you like

  • @mcsg27 out of curiosity, why would there be a problem with putting traktor's 12 over the master?

  • @9insertnamehere3 no problem with it, I just never use the master at all i guess. one reason to put it on a sound would be to record automation on different patterns. for instance, pattern 1 could be dry, 2 could be wet, 3 could be fading into wet, 4 could be open on just the snare or kick, etc

  • @mcsg27 thanks your a great help. I now figured out how to use stutter edit with maschine with your advice, awesome.

  • nice tutorial, thanks a lot =)

  • thank you
