And, Bieto2002, as you see I am a big fan of both Hayley and the other Celtic Woman girls (more specially the five original ones)... But, just so you know a fact: if it is really Hayley in this video (I can't really tell either it is or not), it is supposed to be from her ultra-rare first non comercial album recorded in 2000 when Hayley was only 13. Chloë first recorded it in her debut album in 2002, also at the age of 13. Continuing next reply.

But the video you probably refer to is either from the first Celtic Woman DVD released on 2005 (she was 16) or from her Walking in the air DVD released in 2007 (if I am not wrong) when she was 18... So you can like Chloë's version better and you are free to compare it with Hayley's version, but I think it is fair that you know who recorded it first and take in consideration the age of the artists... Finally, theres's no need of being offensive.

hey mep1990, thanks for your information. it's hard to track the releasing date of these albums you are talking to, so i just base my preference on what i hear. but anyway, i keep my opinion. yes, Hayley can be good at some songs, but for the songs already covered by Celtic Woman, it would be better that she hadnot tried to sing them again, for people now have a benchmark for their comparison. Check "danny boy", "may it be" sung by both Hayley and CW; you'll see the difference.

As I said, I am a big fan of both Hayley and Celtic Woman, (and I am even a biggest fan of Hayley's collaboration with Celtic Woman). So, I have heard the versions of the songs you refer to. About Danny Boy, well, as you see in my other comments here, I already jmention that Méav is, for me, the singer with best voice and singing technique, but I think Hayley performs it great too... And about "May it Be", once again, both Lisa and Hayley do a great job, each one with her own voice (and, believe me, Hayley's last recording from that song in the River of Dreams album is way better than the old ones), but for me that song sounds its best on Enya's original version. Anywyay, when an artist makes a cover of a song, comparisons are inevitable, and it's great to say your preferences, but I don't think it should be a reason to say that a version shouldn't have been done.

Oh, and if you like Celtic and New age music, I highly recommend you Clannad, which was probably the first bad that made famous Irish music all over the world (Celtic Woman is highly inspired on them, and Órla sings greatly several of their songs, like Theme from Harry's game, Siúil a Run or Newgrange... Also Méav's Dúlaman cover is an adaptation of Clannad's version)... But there are noy much Clannad's songs here, on Youtube, so I recommend you to look for it in other places.

ok, we are on better terms now. as i can see from your comments, you are quite a serious listener. honestly, i am not so much in to Celtic and New Age music. i came across Celtic Woman on youtube and has been thrilled since. basically, i listen to anything that sounds good, and i am a selective listener since i have been exposed to classical music since childhood. thanks for your recommendation anyway.

hmm... I discovered Hayley thanks to Celtic Woman, and I think all those girls have amazing vocies. I personally think Méav has a little better voice and singing technique than Haykley, but Hayley is so polivalent (she can sing any song and it will sound just delicious) and also her muscial career and evolution is just spectacular, way more developed than any of the other Celtic Woman artists.

Oh, but curiously, I think when Hayley's singing changed most is somewhen around her collaboration with Celtic Woman... It is precisely then when her voice gets more mature and deep, before she was just amazing too, but sounding more childish and plain. Also, I think Celtic Woman's best epoque is precisely when they've got Hayley's collaboration, the five original artists performing in such an empathy, and Hayley got so easily integrated with them.

I saw Hayley sing this a couple of years ago when she came to the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, VA along with the Boston Pops w/Keith Lockhart. OMG.....I had shivers go through my spine. She is truly an angel and was a perfect compliment along with Christmas with the Pops...I sure wish I could see it again.
